Upped my tax withholding in the middle of the year and got my first sizable refund in like a decade. Yes, I know all about giving the gov't a tax-free loan and all, but from a personal perspective, I don't have to dig into my personal savings and make a payment and it incentivizes me to do my taxes knowing there's $ at the end of the rainbow

Just bombed this interview at a VC firm.

Hate these CACS man, racist mfers. Dude was patronizing me the entire time, felt the vibe shift immediately. Looking around in during the entire interview like I ain’t even deserve his time :stopitslime:

At least the recruiter who turned me onto the role was nice.

Funny enough, I had a previous interview set up by her with one of their companies as a PM. Did perfect in that mfing interview, asked perfect questions, and got the rejection email minutes later :mjpls:

I see why we can’t build wealth in this country.

internal candidate just hit me about my opening, not trying to have someone with no experience in this role. sent that email to HR for them to figure out what formal channels we need to use for internal applicants

this breh is in my LinkedIn feed making hella posts about his weight loss journey - updates about how many pounds down he is, the trials of going to lunch with coworkers, workout routine...um sir, this is LinkedIn, not Facebook :dahell:

linked in is slowly starting to absorb the worst parts of the other social media sites...like there is no reason i would have create a "story" on there

and on top of the i see a lot of alphabet posts being reshared and liked by ppl i follow...its a SJW paradise

so many ppl (not ppl i follow) deciding to share they are non binary or some shyt on there...honestly i was a hiring manager and i saw that, they wouldn't get past an initial screening :heh:

lol, i feel this way about the "woe is me as a woman in corporate, and yet i excel" ass posts in my feed...i also hate that what people like/comment on ends up in my feed. updates and posts from all these people i'm not connected to just because someone liked it

lol saw a post about interacial dating the other and how she was not allowed to bring a white men home blah blah(low key exposing her fam) :mjlol: and now she is married to a white men. A lot of people are exhausting.

I have realized one thing. I have ZERO desire to be part of a companies cyber security and network infrastructure :mjlol:. I would prefer to into consulting where I am working with a company that has lot of resources. Hopefully I can get into a big four/amazon/google etc. or do shyt llike audits base on different defined frame works and go from there. Less stressful honestly. At least it feels like it will be.

-Told work friend I had a mentor, she signed up for the program and now she's my mentee. :heh: She wants to learn more about backend systems, so I gave her the steps to get SSMS installed. She's like "I don't know SQL, you think they will install it for me?" How do they know you don't know SQL? And I promise no one at the helpdesk cares, they just want to close the ticket. Its cool because she knows more of the frontend, so together we could be dangerous.

-Some contract must have been won because I've been getting emails about Qlik Developer jobs. I don't have the mental bandwidth to pursue a second opportunity at the moment, but I'm going to find it.

I dislike this job and I'm only 7 weeks in.

I don't understand how this place of 25 people (and a few contractors) is more difficult to support than a place with 100 people.

They also ask me weird things. Like they want me, the IT guy to help interview dev ops engineer candidates. Or do you want to make a video for the careers page of the new website?

I'm bogged down with administrative bullshyt like: switching accounts to a new credit card, trying to get into the account of services owned by former employees, calling Verizon to make changes to our phone accounts, creating spreadsheets to calculate how much we're spending on each saas app per employee.

This is in addition to normal support stuff, employee onboarding (and all they comes with it).

I'm working during non work hours. I could keep going, but I have to get up early tomorrow.
