But check out disaster assistance . g o v (no spaces) and apply online.
They give $500 within a couple of days and the rest(if you qualify) once your register and verify some info.

I'm trying to get possibly in broward. Can't mess with Dade. Unless it's south beach or the million dollar houses which I can't afford. I heard Doral is good tho. Not sure much about the rest of the county. I be looking on realtor.com and the area that's really growing now is Palm beach county, especially Boynton. Around me they building a bunch of condos and all are like 350k and up.
I just want a simple two bedroom, maybe a 3 if it's cheap and I can rent it out.

Yeah I'm just stacking until next summer. Hopefully stack about 15k by then. No reason to move cuz I'm comfortable right now but eventually I'll want to. Living rent free is the best but I need that freedom.

I worked as a patent examiner at the Patent Office right out of college. I was a pretty good at patent prosecution, drafting office actions quickly, finding good prior art...but I didn't get along with my boss and couldn't switch depts...so I dipped.
I'm going to study for the patent bar....just bought the Omniprep Review Course. My job options will increase tenfold after I pass the patent bar. Patent agents can be paid damn near the salaries of patent attorneys in some markets. ...i saw a starting salary in DC for $190k

General rule is to put as much into a 401k as you can afford. If you're making it with the 401k contributions already, then i wouldn't deviate from that strategy.
Do you have a lot of revolving debt? If you do I'd focus on becoming as debt-free as possible then reup on maxing the 401k contributions.
Some basics first though. Is your 401k overall a good one? Is it an employer matching one with a nice list of funds w/low expense ratios?
