We just had a 2nd meeting with a cloud company for Data Warehousing. The 1st rep was good and we were ready to buy. But ... things happened (IMO, boss) and it got shelved. Anyway, the 1st rep ended leaving and 2 other reps replaced him. These 2 reps were not good. I asked "can you tell the advantages of data lake vs a data warehouse? what is the best use of each?" This fool rep gonna answer "you don't need to choose one or the other. you can have both in the cloud."

I didn't ask this fool what can I have in their cloud system? I asked them to tell me about data lakes and data warehouses.

FYI: I know about data warehouses. But data lakes are new to me and I know the basics. I wanted a more in-depth explanation from the rep. He failed at that shyt. Gonna ask me, "did that answer your question?" MFer do you understand english???

Yall got any coworkers that are 'from a different era'?

There's a guy @ my company, been there at least 10 years that has Michael Scott levels of cringe. Dude is a +55 years old theater geek but stay throwing out unfunny puns. Pre-covid, I know he had a reputation for cornering and inviting the attractive new hire for a 1-on-1 lunch even tho he works in Marketing and they are always in a different department. These chicks are fresh out of college and he can't read social cues, so they are trying to curve him without feeling like a bytch during their first month on the job and he is ignorant of their excuses.

I think he's had to tone things down thanks to #MeToo but some female coworkers told me he showed up to a recent company-sponsored book club because he thought chicks would be there.... ole boy apparently aint even read the book and just tried virtu-flirting over Teams during the entire session:mjlol:

I don't understand how people "plan" stuff, but can't be bothered to hash out the critical details until right before shyt is supposed to happen. How you wanna do shyt that gets increasingly expensive the longer you wait while waiting to the last second to make a decision?
breh :dwillhuh:

This is basic human nature. People are lazy like to conserve energy.

Why do companies want people in the office so bad if people were productive at home?

Is it really to justify micromanaging?
Companies are going to have to start adapting or loose talent to other companies willing to offer remote work.

only 1 month left of Q1... Madness time flies. I'm currently applying for 5 jobs a day and I have a call scheduled for Friday for a job, i done some spying on Linkedin for people with the same job currently working there and im unimpressed, will just take this as a chance to practise interviewing and keep it moving.

smh and lol at non 500 fortune companies who dont offer 100% remote work, I cant lie i've been blessed to be able to go full remote but it's going to suck if I have a job and need to go back to the office. Oh well, have to take the rough with the smooth.

I just had a call with the recruiter and wtf the salary is 2.5 what im making currently, this sounds too good to be true but i will play along for now.

Interviewed for a very, very well known company and I may decline the job offer if it's presented. The job as described is much different than what was written, the person who I interviewed with just a week ago forgot who I was because it wasn't on her calendar. The kicker is that I'd be working for her. It's fully remote and the pay is looking like 125k at minimum, but I'd be a one stop shop with no teammates to assist.

Started a 10 day Python bootcamp through my job. Hopefully I'm able to do beginner level work by the end.
