Did they tell you where they're going?

Not India I hope.

*red dot slander* The team has clear language barriers, turnover and inability to execute a lot of functions plus the time difference. Their part of my role was previously done in-house and I can/have done it myself up to intermediate but it's pretty interesting the effects of *globalization* without really accounting for cultural differences. They recently shut down for Holi/Diwali and I needed a rush order for something, mofo bytching and moaning at me about how much work they have- yeah when you shut down an entire department in the middle of a week for a day backlog happens, and the "I get off in five minutes can you wait" like holy shyt these mofos have fukking audacity.
They’re a European company. The app isn’t popular enough in the US, so they’re just going to concentrate on Europe for now.

Looks like they’re going to offer me a bonus if I stay through February and help them shutdown. But I don’t know if I really want to.

I would say don't stick around unless they really make it worth it financially. Better to move on ASAP for peace of mind.

Entering busy season for HR folks, but finally feeling like my role is mine after being here for 4 months.

Just turned 40 years old, need my base to be $230K or better going into 2024.

No clear standouts but a slight favorite thus far, a few sales leaning roles (where I still have to have the discipline background) with crazy roles/opps but commission base kind of intimidating somewhat. The research side is very excited and my interviews be hella casual but quick ass turnarounds, one was talking bout average perf on team *200s, possibly up to 300- gahdamn, I’m not even gonna gas myself yet. We gon see.

One role, the one breh in a high position was late without notice and gave the personal
Spiel about what happened- multiple B(ackedbyBillionaire) experiences have yielded mixed results and based on my timelines I may reach decisions at least to start rolling in by the EOM. Hella personal shyt going on at this time so may need to take a break between roles to kick some a— I mean, resolve things .

I had to support a lot of sales people at my last job. I remember one time when the Sales team had their off-site in Portugal:

Sales guy: Hey, what's up?

Coworker: I'm good. It's nice and quiet because nobody's in the office. How come you're not in Portugal with the rest of your team?

Sales guy: Couldn't go... I didn't meet my sales quota.:mjcry:

Coworker: Oh... :francis:

But yeah, they make bank. That's the only thing I know about what they do. Oh and the SDRs were really cool, but their job is thankless.

The offer is 8 weeks severance and a 12 week bonus. Plus they'll pay for the health insurance through June.

I still don't want to stay. Decommissioning the office would be tedious work. And I think I still get the severance even if I don't stay until the end.

Go for a contract job paid via 1099 or start an LLC and get paid Corp to Corp. A second job is usually for the money, so you want to yield as much possible and deduct expenses on your taxes.

Can you not job search and take your time til then? How quickly do you think you will find another role that you’ll like?

You can do both (look) and give best efforts while you shut down. (No need to answer me but maybe some qs to consider as you weigh choices). Hope this helps

I think I should stay for the money. It’s a good deal and the last month of it is completely remote.

I can study to beef up my skills and take my time to find a role that I really want.
