Got an email about the background check coming through for a temp to perm job. If I had called back the recruiter, I could've probably started tomorrow (Friday). But I got the word yesterday that I got into a coding bootcamp that starts in a week or so. Hate to let the recruiter down, but in my defense I clearly wasn't feeling it. And the rate was low for a gig with no benefits.
Also: Do temp to perm gigs usually just have 1 phone interview? No face-to-face? When I was talking to the interview, I asked about the team. He said that one person went back to school and another person left on Monday. I told him I needed a week before I started and he asked me if I could start sooner.

F2F interviews are not mandatory; they are common practice.
What type of boot camp are you taking? Full stack, mobile, etc..
Do you plan to go into Software Engineering or DevOps?

The funny thing you are going to see now, is that the more you learn, you'll see that folks doing the hiring and managing know less and less. They speak in catch-phrases and current buzzwords, but if you press them on more they'll repeat the same catchphrases and buzz words. Full stack. And I'll probably go into whatever I can get into once this thing is over. But I've got some tech support experience and with some coding skill I figure I might be able to swing that into a DevOps role. At my last job, when the tech director actually paid attention to me, he said I should learn to code. I also met a bunch of people who went through bootcamps and they all said it's the best thing they ever did.
Bullshyt rejection email, time to start looking again. It's a god damn shame too because I was really set on that company and starting life in a new place. This is an emotionally tough setback brehs 
Will need some photoshop/comp savvy brehs to help change a few things on my resume format wise.
