The other IT guy is on vacation this week. I keep getting pulled into meetings because external contractors don't have all the access they need. I don't have access to these tools. There's a whole other team for access management.

It's been a new meeting every day this week!

I got pulled into 2 yesterday, but none today.

Like the whole process for contractors is silly, IT ships out the laptops, but then the other team hasn't given them access to anything that they need aside from Gmail and Slack even though the tickets have been in the queue for at least a week.

Anybody else 28 trying to figure this shyt out? Trying to upstart a design/solutions company as well as a food blog. Just trying to get income without going manufacturing. I have IT experience and many stripes in different fields but I’m just trying to put this shyt together. Feel like windows closing

I'm trying to think of my next career moves. Currently a Staff Engineer at my company. Senior Staff is probably the next step which is nebulous in the role but could encompass being a dedicated engineer for a customer which is delving into Solutions Architect territory or help train other colleagues.

I am starting to be somewhat interested in management as well. Ultimately I am trying to leverage my soft skills more because it gets exhausting trying to up your skills every few years to do more of the tech grunt work all the time. I have been getting more enjoyment helping training junior colleagues of mine and also working on high level solutions for customers so something that aligns with those skills all while being still technically competent would be good.

One of my goals by 2025 is to hit over 200k in my salary but if I make the right career moves I may be able to hit that earlier.

I gotta learn to work better before the pressure comes on.

I find I work/operate best when I feel my back’s against the wall or I have to stretch my resources/abilities.

But when things are smooth sailing I get a lil lax :francis:

I know I do that too lol ..sometimes that's ok

Gave notice last week that im out :francis:

I was burnt out in my situation. Started having bad anxiety too

Interview #4 today with a new gig that would be led by my former manager.

Meeting with the SR Director, but im confident it's been good vibes thus far.

Bouncing before the next job is secured is a leap of faith, but that burn out is real. Good luck breh
