Over-prepped again. I had an entire cheat sheet of shyt (say that three times fast), ready in case they hit me with something. I channeled the energy of all my failed interviews (and that's a lot of fail) and they didn't ask me not one technical/from the book thing. :russ: I did google the company and how they work with Qlik and saw a few videos with one of the interviewers. Slid that in there to let them know I was doing "research".

That's always how it goes. :pachaha:

Better to be over prepared though than be like a deer caught in headlights when they ask technical questions.

What kills me is a job paying $50k will make you take a pre-assessment and conduct a 10 round interview where you need to code a sample project with 5 people looking at you while you do it. Mfs offering six figures ask you about the weather, if you own pets and discussing the time when you had to deal with difficult people :heh:

But you're right, better to be over prepared than under or not prepared at all.

About 2 years ago I signed up to volunteer for this Vegan Soulfest. Ended up talking to the coordinator and she mentioned she wanted to incorporate analytics into her program. Things like seeing how events, workshops, or one-to-one education impacted someone's choice to go vegan. I save my number in my her phone with the title "data lady".

Well, she called looking to discuss the project lol. They don't have data storage or anything, so I would be launching everything from the ground up and I'm low key excited about that.

I'm going to do a little research and put together a quick presentation with some small business options for analytics/visualization based on what she told me. Once I get more details, I can narrow things down. It's crazy because this is the foundation of the business I want to start...small business analytics. This has been a good week.

MFs really want to lean on your knowledge and experience when they know you aren't going to be around anymore. I tried to start standing up these new environments before I went in vacation and took the new job, but somebody else wanted to swing their dikk around and take control :yeshrug:. Too late to ask me about that shyt now. I'm not going to put in that amount of effort when I have 2 weeks left.

I've been applying for jobs at a leisurely pace since my contract is up in a couple of months.

I was checking out this start up and they had zero black people working there, judging from the pictures and LinkedIn. I don't think I saw any minorities at all.

And some of these job listings are kind of hilarious. There was one for an IT role where the requirements were all generic. Like "Response in a timely manner." The only software they listed was Zoom. They didn't even say which OSes you needed to know.

Just had intro training for DataBricks from my company. Even as a breh that almost exclusively uses SQL Server + Excel, I am pretty excited about reworking my workflow to be more efficient.

Debating on copping a rental office space in my city to get more focus during WFH and to have separation between work and home. I’m seeing a couple places that are 15 mins walking distance from my home for like $400-$500 a month.

If my work could subsidize it then I’d go for it....

I spoke with my homeboy and we are going to meet next week to map out this thing with the non profit. He's a beast with networking, scripting, and basically anything back-end.

He faces issues landing roles because he doesn't have an undergrad degree. When I referred him to a role, I specifically told HR he didn't have a Bachelors and they said it was fine. After hired, he ended up with a dikkhead manager. Basically tried to say he lied about having higher education and tried to fire him. I pulled up that email exchange with the quickness...never even offered him an apology. He's super ready to break out on his own. Tired of the song and dance.
