I really need to get over myself, like seriously. Legit scared to go for PM roles because I don't have the cert. Certificate or not, I'll have to manage a project for the first time at some point. The certification isn't going to somehow make me do a better or more terrible job, just show I remembered enough info from the PMBOK to pass the exam. It's really what I want to do. What I end up doing for people/small groups FOR FREE in some shape or fashion anyway. I also specialized in the shyt for my graduate program, so it's not like I'm just out here winging it and bullshyting. I know this shyt!
Do you even apply? Or do you read the description and go :whoa:? I know you know, but nothing to lose by applying.

This. A recruiter called me today and she's like your background is a good fit blah blah blah and I stop her like, "I don't have my PMP". She said "Oh they aren't looking for that, they want someone with the experience". :leon:She said this based on a copy of my chronological resume that she pulled because I worked with another woman in their org last month (Same company, different role).

I created a combo resume that highlights some functional areas as well as lists my chronological experience, so I sent that to her as well and a copy of the PM certificate I received from my graduate class. Like, I KNOW this stuff, I just need to apply it professionally. I've decided to go for my PMP by my birthday, so it's not even something I have to concern myself with for long, but I am lowkey mad I passed on a bunch of PM roles because of that.

It's amazing how certain people make it in life. I am in software support. This one white dude is middle aged and has a bachelor's in computer engineering and kind of looks the part of someone that knows some shyt and can get shyt done . This motherfukker is one of the most helpless able body people you could ever work with. Dude never has any concrete answers to anything and has zero confidence.

He's one of those " uhm ok...well I'll guess I'll see what I can do" type of guys. You can lay it all out for him like man just look this info up, follow the documentation, troubleshoot from there and you should be good, you got it? "Uhm I mean I guess I can try". Wtf man. You weren't saying that kind of shyt in the job interview

Have a company that is really interested in me a for a position doing exactly what im doing in my current position.

I could run it up for a few months and do both :jbhmm:
Offer came in today. :obama:. I fukking crushed that interview :pachaha:

I think im going to do both gigs until the end of the year and see how im feeling. I can finesse it up until that point.

Feels good to be in this position. This time last year a breh was down bad with no job. Stick to your plan brehs

My first remote Sub-Saharan African project is coming in next week. I'm really excited about this because it allows me to start making serious inroads on my 5 year plan and it gives me actual data to understand the industry (agribusiness).

It's a daily grind but I'm sticking with the plan.

LinkedIn has “Stories” like Instagram now?? :gucci:

I saw that yesterday. LinkedIn has been doing way too much of late. It's becoming too FBish with all the self indulging posts and the like. Keep that thing business focused.

yup i just saw...even social media i take serious has to have that shyt..wont keep shyt simple

It's like every app is just doing the same thing. iG, FB, Whatsapp, heck even the Bible app has stories. Some things are best just kept simple.
