3rd party or someone from the company itself?

The recruiting firm I'm working with emailed me a job description and also a have a post on DICE with the same description and stated range of $120k-$130k. When I spoke with them, they told me the company's name, so I looked at their website and job postings and they also have the same job/description all word for word, so I know it's the same.

Yeah they're trying to skim off the top and get their cut.

I just spoke with one of the ladies, she said something about the scope changing after speaking with the client :stopitslime: and also mentioned the relocation package could offset the overall salary. "Just chat wit them and get a good feel for the job, you aren't going to discuss salary tomorrow". She's right ultimately, none of it matters if I don't make it past the interview, so I'll just prepare and hopefully I crush it. Maybe I'll make a future connection or add a valuable company to my network. I have to start being more strategic, I mean we are still in a pandemic so interviewing at all is good.

got a glowing performance review at work...the type of review that would get me a promotion and raise but budgets are frozen during this covid time...sometimes i dont see the logic of having reviews at work when things like that happen..but what can you do?

Use the time to narrow down what you really want and when things "normalize" have a direct conversation about your desired moves within the company. You can also use it to keep a portfolio of your performance evaluations in the case you want to jump ship. Those are basically informal letters of recommendation :manny:

Yep. I don't even bother with job sites anymore. Everything is either LinkedIn or Twitter for the most part.

It allows you to skip the middle man idiotic recruiters that just pit candidates against each other.

How do you go about finding jobs to apply to on Twitter?

I don't recall ever getting a glowing performance review at any job. Usually when I want a promotion I just change jobs it's easier that way.

A few times the companies actually offered me a promotion to return. I took one of them up on but it was a huge mistake. And I left again before a year passed.

Make sure you keep a copy of that performance review. I've had 1 or 2 hiring managers ask me about performance reviews at my previous employers. Especially if you job hop like me.

Interview at 4pm. I can't wait to get it over with, I have so much anxiety. I made an informal interview plan in case they didn't have one with just some items I was told to review from the description. Luckily its all technology I've worked with before, just making sure I know the formal terms. I reviewed the company and most say management at the IT level is shyt, but that's typically the case. At this point I just want to be able to apply knowledge to some real assignments.

I got my first offer as a junior sec analyst...but I don't think I'll take it.
Salary is non-negotiable, and I cannot survive on what they're offering.

...I've done a cost benefit analysis a good 5 times, and still end up on a no :snoop:

My homegirl has her PMP and she told me she studied using a Udemy cram session by Joseph Phillips. I'm going to check that out instead. I purchased this other prep software, but my attention span...
Did you ever join BIC? They have plenty of PMP resources and voucher programs.

I followed the group on twitter but didn’t join slack. My PMP membership is about to expire, so I put that on hold for now. I have to find a role first, I don’t have the money for any of this shyt.

Have a job offer i signed because they gave me the most inflexible deadline and I wasn’t sure how I’d do in my other interview :snoop: I really like the role and they have lots of perks but am hesitant about the people, the hours will be long, and it’s also in NY, they don’t go back to the office until spring of next year but expect me to move out there

just finished my final round with a company where I think I’ll be getting an offer. I love the people, they seem serious AF about work life balance, and one that doesn’t care where I’m located (big for me since I want to move, but could see myself coming back to Cali in 1-2 yrs or moving down south for a lower COL), they have offices in NY and SF which is great for me given my indecisiveness...only thing is I don’t love the role as much

guess I’ll cross the bridge if/when I get there but I’m having so much anxiety about which one to pick if I get the second offer, especially the prospect of reneging on a signed offer :damn:

I'm not a job hopper and my reviews stay on the Intranet site so I always have my copies.
