I thought all the testing centers we're closed? Or can you take a proctored exam online from home? I know VMware starts offering certification exams online starting April 20th.Should I take the easier version of the AWS Solutions architect exam or the harder one?
They would be the same one on paper. my ego says go for the harder one my brain says take the easier one
The contracts I was on you had 1 company as the primary. And everyone else got broken off subcontract work off that same contract order. So if the primary on the contract wants to blacklist your ass. The subcontractors working on that same contract won't pick you up either so they don't piss off the primary.I stayed a year to get time in grade for gs-13 if I ever want to go back. I was a 2210 working with the Army in their DCO teams.
I was placed on a team with a bunch of other black guys on a racist ass white man's team. All of us civilians left after a year there, fukk that shyt, I went back to contracting, my other co-workers transfered back to his higher GS position.
My sister works in the DC area and I have some old contracting co-workers who are up there now.
Everyone up there wants to leave, except corporate, cost of living is way too high. The key that most people like to do is work remote for a job in DC. That way you can live in the south or a cheaper area and still make DC pay.
A TS isn't regional, you have a national commodity. Outside of a small area with no other clients you are good where ever their is TS work and there is a lot of it.
Nah, there is no Non Compete enforceable that would allow you to only work for one company for all federal contracting work. Non compete have to be narrowly tailored to specific actions, you might not be able to compete on a specific type of project, but not all federal contracting work.
If the prime doesn't want you they don't want you, that isn't the same as saying you have a Non Compete clause. The contracts I was on you had 1 company as the primary. And everyone else got broken off subcontract work off that same contract order. So if the primary on the contract wants to blacklist your ass. I've seen it happen to a guy before. And the only way he was able to get put back on the contract with anyone. Was a Federal Employee pulling strings to get him back on the contract. Things work a little differently in Federal Contracting away from DC in these other states. For these small towns in remote areas these contract jobs are the only game in town. Sure you can pack up and move to another state and still use that clearance. But that's you're only option unless you know someone with lots of pull. I've seen possibly every rule broken when it comes to Federal Contracting and that's why I got out.
If the primary on the contract is forcing everyone to sign a non-compete. They don't care if it's enforceable or not. It's purpose is to scare everyone into falling inline. I'm not arguing the legal merits of whether it will hold up in a court of law. Just giving my experience of what happened to me. You just seem to be arguing for arguments sake.If the prime doesn't want you they don't want you, that isn't the same as saying you have a Non Compete clause.
Yes federal poc can exert influence on contractors for a good relationship to get people back, but again nothing to do with non-compete clauses.
Nah, what you describe is typical contracting politics, but it isn't making people sign NCCs and I feel for you if you had such a terrible experience and from going to Augusta I saw the contractors there had bad exp. because previously it was podunk ville with only a few positions and a few contracts, but don't confuse your experience with the reality of actual contracting. If the primary on the contract is forcing everyone to sign a non-compete. If you're confident you know the material, do the harder one and crush it!! Let that ego swell baby!!Should I take the easier version of the AWS Solutions architect exam or the harder one?

Yep. I went ahead and signed up for the contracts law class, paid $125 so I can get that certificate to add to my resume and LinkedIn profile.Harvard giving away free classes with certifications.
On my previous job I was part of a 1 week on-call rotation. We just rotated through everyone in IT Security except Managers. It sucked and one of the reasons I quit. At my current job I can still end up working after hours but it's rare and not mandatory. How many of ya'll are on call at your job? If so, how often do you rotate your on-call duties?
The minute I'm on call or they contact my personal cell is my 2 weeks notice . I didn't sign up for that shyt.On my previous job I was part of a 1 week on-call rotation.
