My friend was talking about a role with the Feds she is hiring for and I think she is going to hook me up. It starts at like $102k and she was like "So yeah in 3 years you'll be at around $110k"...all excited. In my head I was like

. I want to "settle down" and find a full-time role and start stabilizing myself, but the money is so slow. I've been contracting for a few years now and increased pay by $20k in less than two years, that's not something that could be done with petty 3-5% raises.
As a mom though, it's time to be a little risk adverse and this wouldn't be a bad starting point at all. I'm just fearful of not having the energy to pursue my own thing and getting complacent. Knowing your job/income will end at a specific time, lights a fire under your ass like no other. You try to soak up every marketable skill you can, so someone can pay you $5-$10 more for it at the next place
Nothing but Truth! If it weren't for Sohh.com and ultimately this site, I wouldn't have any aims for 6 figures or turning my nose up at $110k salaries

But I also know if I were white, with less experience and education, these companies would pay me 30% more with no problem. So, I've been trying to find a lane that works for me financially.
