Maybe I'm tripping...The contracting firm I work for, sent an email on 11/27 (The day before Thanksgiving), requesting a meeting for TODAY. I telework on Mondays and I'm damn sure not coming in to meet with these fools. But who schedules something during a fukking holiday week? These people are truly starting to blow me.

Any of y’all got recommendations on applying to jobs when you’re out of state?
I want to start planning now and have something concrete a year from now.

Just make sure you have the means to relocate before you start applying. I was lucky enough to have a couple of months to sort things out after I accepted the offer, but you may not. Time moves quickly and relocation is more expensive and logistically complex than you initially account for. Place to stay, cost of deposit and rent, proximity to work, neighborhood, transportation, how you're going to move your possessions, keep tossing all of that back and forth in your mind. Other than that, apply as you normally would.

Relocation is the easy part since half of my moms side live in nyc. It’s getting the actual job and interviewing.

Then I'd say just apply like you would any other company. If they ask you if you're relocating then say yes. The first few rounds might be virtual (phone or video). Last round would probably at the HQ. For that, just take a day off work.
