There is basically nothing scientific that says eating late at night is bad for you.

Now you can throw in 100 variables that aren't good for you but eating at any time off day doesn't have a downside relative to the time.

I think people are afraid of eating before they go to bed because they don't think any of it will get burned.

When I'm in a cut cycle I do my hiit cycles late at night (11:00 pm) and get home at 12:30 am. Once home I eat some grapes (300 cals worth) and deli meat then go to bed. Even with all of that im about a half a pound lighter in the morning and still losing weight by lunch time the next day cuz my metabolism is supercharged from the hiit.

They're so many variables to this biochem stuff. So yeah I'm with you on this one. Especially with cbl now using insulin to your body's advantage for gaining muscle mass without getting fat (still haven't tried it but the biochemistry seems legit)

As for the hydroxycut, the threadstarter doesn't even any of that. His bmr is 2600 cals and he can easily get under that with a halfway descent diet and avoiding sucrose. Throw in some cardio where he burns 300-600 cals 5-7 times a week for 6 months I guarantee he'll be needing to go shopping for a new wardrobe by Halloween

Indeed. I know why people think that but it's not accurate. You are almost always burning calories. You should never worry about food getting "burned" if you are eating with your calorie and macro targets.

That's why I hate hearing people say, I need to go work of X food I ate.

There isn't anything wrong with eating late
IF you are eating late clean... for me personally the later I eat the dirtier and more unnecessary the food. Its more an issue of discipline for most people than anything

Plus most people can get all the calories they need within like 12-8.... unless u work a graveyard shift, if u are trying to stay leanish no real upside to eating real late on a regular basis IMO.

Yeah but those are the variables. Eating late within your calorie/macro needs isn't a barrier to staying lean.

I see your point, it tends to lead to less optimal choices, relative to the thread we have to keep that in mind.

Yea would agree with this,

The YouTube fitness people can be played out at times, but there are tons of good videos out there for info/motivation:ehh:

ATHLEAN-X™

This guy is the best in terms of scientific/sports based info OP. There are TONS of good tips and info on here if you comb through the vids

PumpChasers

This is a great motivation/ eating channel and he's also in your area, maybe you can get involved with some of their meet ups and stuff even one day OP:manny:
I was just doing an Athlean-X abs regimen. Jeff seems pretty knowledgeable.

I used to be 210lbs at 5'7. Now I'm 144lbs.

I used to eat like a pig when I was a preteen/teenager, but Id remain skinny. At one point when I was 12/13 I'd make four eggs iust for me, and I would put a gang of Lawry's seasoning salt on them and put them on an sandwich with butter on the bread.

But that metabolism caught up to me when I turned 20, so I blew up.

:scust:

Than I developed anxiety disorder 3yrs ago(June 2013) and I was stuck on that Xanax and was a recluse. Then I got off and started weight lifing, and dropped pounds rapidly.

I know what you're going through.
