Let me do some foxy brown math on this

his bmr is 2500 calories to maintain his weight

1 hour on the treadmill = 800 cals
1800 calorie diet = -700

1500 caloric deficit per day

10,500 caloric deficit per week

Divide by 3500 and we can have homeboy losing 3 pounds a week.

12 pounds a month.

48 pounds in 4 months which would put him at 236.

Probably have him rocking size 36 jeans by november. Size 34 if they got spandex
Just my two cents but I hate the concept of trusting a cardio machine for cals burned and then factoring that into calorie allowance. Those things can't be accurate.

To @CashmereEsquire point. He is likely going to want to change body composition which means lifting. Might as well start know.

Yup, IMO Only best to worry about Calories you eat when it comes to having a Deficit. Let the Calories burned during exercise be "bonus" calories.

No weed either

We don't need you killing a tub of ice cream every time you get lifted :usure:

Weed is not an issue.

@Eat Dhat dikk Up!!!!!!!!!

Download the app MyFitnessPal and set a goal and abide by it. Log all of your food intake and you will began losing weight as long as you're honest. Throw in cardio, go on the treadmill, set the incline to 4.0 and the speed to 4.0 and remain on there for 30 minutes no more no less 5 days a week. At this point don't worry about weight lifting. Just cardio and improving your diet.

I agree. He should maintain the same deficient calorie goal everyday no matter how hard he works out.

I feel you in trusting cardio machines but burning 600 calories while running for an hour does sound about right. I had a heartrate monitor measure me out at abt 600 calories after an hour run and I weighed about 230 something at the time

if you want him to be a drooping sack of loose skin then go for it lol.

At his size he can do a basic Workout like Starting Strength 3 times a week and get his diet in check and he will shed weight with ease. He should slowly add the cardio in because once he is actually lean he will need to increase his cardio so he doesnt have to eat 1500 calories or something to lose weight.

Ok ok. I can see that. Increasing muscle mass is definitely a good thing especially in the long run. Definitely a good thing for gis metabolism

Really I just wanted him to get quick results :yeshrug:

I lost 90 lbs in 8 months a few yrs back, and towards the end I was doing an hr of Cardio 2-3 times a week, lol that ish isn't fun. IMO he shouldn't ramp up his cardio until he hits a plateau. I think its best to start with as much cardio as you can do if you cant do at least 20 min, and then add 5 min every few weeks/ pounds lost.

So I`d say for example if you are eating 2500 cal, and then hit a wall after 3 weeks, I say bump up the cardio by 5 min, then the next time you hit a wall lower your calories by 100 or 150 cal. Keep alternating like that (between increasing activity and lowering calories).
