I could play into my mid 30's without pain. I was always a good passer and have a pretty wild wingspan for my height so I was able to play some sneaky defense and be an effective, creative distributor without exerting too much energy. Always felt like I was a net positive (so we can stay on the court), but of course when them kids have all types of hesi's with their quickness there was only so much I could do playing against point guards fresh out of high school. I remember one of the last games I played I nearly got dropped by a crossover. Level of competition is really good out here at the closest gyms.

eventually more about quality of life vs court life. less wear and tear to extend knee health vs being a court warrior. i'll shoot a game of around the world to warm up. mostly walking or on the bike now. keeping up core strength and keeping off extra weight is key.

Hooping casually into your forties is unbelievable?
Not at all.. but acting like we're 'bums' for not being in tip top shape when we got full lives goin on is some other shyt.

I'd be willing to bet that greater than 80% of 40 and overs have effects that keep them from hoopin. If not higher than 80. If you're in shape, cool. consider yourself in the minority.

41 and still play at a high level with 20 and up players. Can't move like I used to but still get buckets. Just have to change some of your game and realize the things you can't do like back in the day. Play smarter not harder.

Edit play at least 3-4 times a week.

No real hooper just stops into their 30s barring injury. Standing on that. I know mad 30+ hoopers that still get it in at a high level, braces and straps so be it

Ok.

Now do 40+

Cause if you’re really over 40, then you know what time it is for a majority of them dudes.

If you’re not 40+, then why are you in this thread? No shade, just asking.

Because the first post I made that you replied to was me saying I hoop with a bunch of 40+ year olds that’s nice regularly :dahell:
