Those who don't have a jump shot will struggle once they get to their mid-30s, the aches pains and injuries of constantly driving or playing bully ball will pile up until something bad bad happens.

For those who have a great jump shot but are fat, the sore achilles and bad back from going up and down the court while deconditioned will end you in a similar time frame.

But those with a great jump shot and in good/great shape (i.e. those lean old guys who eat healthy and run at the park every day), can play until 45+.

Most normal people have to clock in and clock out.. and spend 10-12 hours per day at work. Leaving little time for anything else. Imagine getting paid to stay in top shape, getting nothing but healthy meals prepared for you (for free) and basically having everything in life done for you. And all you gotta do is stay in shape and play ball.
Most normal people have a boatload of excuses of why they can’t do stuff, and that why they don’t accomplish things. Case in point.

I’m 39 and still ball with teenagers and guys in their 20s and can hold my own pretty well. On a good day I can resurrect the old me and dominate. Just won a tournament the other day.

I’m in great shape though.
Late 30s too and literally just got done with a run a couple of hours ago.

Still running and jumping out the gym. As the old adage goes, you get fit to play basketball and don't play basketball to get fit Focus on strength and conditioning throughout the week and you'll be fine.

Live a day in my shoes and tell me that after a single week.

Wake up at 5:30 am to shower.
6:00 a.m. get breakfast ready for my kid.
6:45 eat breakfast with my kid.
7:15 take kid to school.
8:30 get to work.
6:30 clock outta work.
7:30 get home and prepare dinner for mom dukes, the kid and me.
8:30 spend time with the kid before 9:30 bed time.
9:00 unwind and catch up on sports (youtube etc)
10:30/11pm I'm tired as fukk so I go to bed.

Rinse and repeat 5 days a week.

So you're either:

A) Young as fukk, so ignorant to grown folk life.
B) A 6-6-6- type dude on here that has money workin for him, and have all the time in the world.
C) Don't have children, or loved ones that depend on your time.
D) or you just don't care.

Doesn't matter which one you are honestly.. but if you can't understand that.. then I don't know what to tell you.

And this is coming from an ex athlete that played nothing but varsity football, basketball and baseball in high school, and went on to hoop in college. So it's not like I'm unfamiliar with training.

shyts crazy for somebody like me. I hooped in high school at 6'6 185 :scusthov:

In college I was 6'6 210

In the past few years I've gained weight from inactivity, and I'm up to 6'6 240. That might not seem like a lot.. but tell my knees that :sadcam:

This is hilarious the average person at that age isnt fit or atheltic enough to play recreational basketball usually, while lebron is still playing at an all nba caliber level , just led his country to the Gold in the olympics and is still averaging 25ppg while shooting over 50 percent from the field, its insane
Lebron isn't an average person :dahell:
An average person isn't LeBron:what:

yeah easily but I’m not 40(37) yet. But my brother is and we play all the time. I’m not out of shape though. I stretch and jog daily. I also don’t play defense or rebound. :lolbron:

The league at my job have a couple of mid age dudes playing. I feel like I could still play recreationally another decade.
