And most that have that still dont make it to 40 or close to it.

My bro tore his achilles a few years ago on some just because shyt, nothing crazy, he wasnt tryna do no wild shyt. I retired immediately. Not worth the risk. I will shoot around or do drills with my son but thats it.
I tore my achilles years ago and still play - I'm 35 now. It is a long road to recovery but injury risk shouldnt deter you IMO.

Live a day in my shoes and tell me that after a single week.

Wake up at 5:30 am to shower.
6:00 a.m. get breakfast ready for my kid.
6:45 eat breakfast with my kid.
7:15 take kid to school.
8:30 get to work.
6:30 clock outta work.
7:30 get home and prepare dinner for mom dukes, the kid and me.
8:30 spend time with the kid before 9:30 bed time.
9:00 unwind and catch up on sports (youtube etc)
10:30/11pm I'm tired as fukk so I go to bed.

Rinse and repeat 5 days a week.

So you're either:

A) Young as fukk, so ignorant to grown folk life.
B) A 6-6-6- type dude on here that has money workin for him, and have all the time in the world.
C) Don't have children, or loved ones that depend on your time.
D) or you just don't care.

Doesn't matter which one you are honestly.. but if you can't understand that.. then I don't know what to tell you.

And this is coming from an ex athlete that played nothing but varsity football, basketball and baseball in high school, and went on to hoop in college. So it's not like I'm unfamiliar with training.
8:30 PM to 10:30 PM is your window..

You can workout with your kid call it family recess or something and let them do jumprope jumping jacks etc while you get yours in..

But I understand if that’s not feasible either

Mid-40s and still athletic enough to play, but I've forced myself to stay off the court for 10+ years because my knees are shot, especially the right one. I had a teenage injury with almost the exact same issues and treatment problem as what happened to D-Wade, only I didn't have all-world trainers and huge contracts to keep me playing. I quit basketball once it started staying sore for two days even after half-court games cause I still wanted to be active while my girl was growing up and not have to get a knee replacement in my 40s.

I still end up getting coerced into a pickup game about once every five years, and I can keep up to a degree but look like trash cause I have zero touch from any distance after so long without practicing.

Tore my Achilles hoopin at 38. Full recovery. After about 2 years since injury I went back out there. Felt fine but but the OTHER Achilles felt a lil lil bit sore (possibly in my mind, possibly for real). Haven’t played since.

Physically I feel fine but the fact an Achilles is practically out of your control scares me shytless. I can look back and laugh on it now but that shyt was crazy. Had just started talkin to a chick and I could not let that surgery block my blessings I was driving a challenger coupe with the leg scooter shoved in the back. Couldnt use my foot to drive so I used a stick for the gas/brake. :bryan: I can’t go thru that again

How is your recovery going? :francis:

I haven't tried to hoop, box, or anything yet. Didn't really have the time for it pre surgery though.
