Nah I was going to buy a used one, but I went to my local Honda dealership and just bought a used civic instead. In the end, I didn't want to spend more than 8 grand, and didn't know how a used one would fair. I could finance a new one, but said screw it.Were you in the market for a brand new golf/GTI breh? Is your civic a SI or Sport btw?
i think the part about them being too expensive to fix if they do break down, is specific to german cars.all this can be applied to any car brand and manufactuer. just dont buy a lemon and your good
German cars>>>>>>>>
Nga ive had an Audi Q7 for a year now that would shyt all over that Lexus in most every metric and all I’ve had to replace was an accessory belt tensioner
Japanese cars are too linear and appliance like for me. No character, soul, fun to drive experiences found in any modern Japanese car I’ve driven not named Miata
With German cars you really have to know
A. What you are really looking at
B. Staying completely on top of maintenance with what is needed currently as well as what could be coming up due to age and mileage.
Big facts to all of this
Bimmerpost has saved a nikka thousands of dollars to date...
Cayenne is built on the exact same chassis as the Q7 and Touareg, for the first gen they even shared the same doors and wing mirrors. Personally for me reliability is kind of thrown out the window, I know these cars and can diagnose most problems myself and then either fix it myself or find cheap labor to tackle the exact problem I’m already aware of.The lexus would beat the q7 when it comes to reliability. And sure audi takes the win when it comes to interior design but a standard q7 is not that much impressive.
I mean a porshe cayanne would shyt on both the q7 and the lexus. But I am just trying put my coli brethren on that lexus. But since the topic is about affordability and reliability the lexus takes the W.
yes but.....While this is a good rule of thumb, when you purchase qn expensive car, you're expecting quality and it not to be trash
planned obsolescence
bmw knows you want a new one in 3 years so why put in parts that last 10-15 years?
You just lost 80% of this forum bruhThe ZF transmission in german cars are very reliable. Most of the transmission problems in those cars are the results of the mechatronic valve body in the transmission. Over time the pistons that control line pressure in the clutch packs wear out and cause transmission faults..
That's why its very important to keep up with all of the maintenance in German cars.. ALL of it.. Because a simple $500 problem will escalate to a $5000 issue..
I just Test drove one. It’s a 4 banger but it’s well done. Acura is smoking DRUGS on that price though. That type s would be worth it if they weren’t committing murder on the price.have you seen the new acura tlx?I looks good to me. Wonder how the s-type is going to preform
