Why not try to change this sad truth? Saying "it sales" is not a good enough reason to keep promoting negativity in our community.

Why do people look up to rappers? It's cause they have all the cars, jewelry, and girls. If rappers promoted getting an education and being a responsible adult as the key to getting all these cars, jewelry, and girls, then more young men would want to be that way.

And there are plenty of artists that are succesful and don't promote the ignorance that 2chainz does. Using your example 50 cent. Yeah he talked allot about killing and drugs, but at the same time he showed the kids positivity, and promoted intelligent moves. He also talked about why it is NOT cool to be a gang banger. He talked about fatherhood, he had his son in his first video. No one is saying you have to be a total nerd talking about "stay in school" in every rap. But being purposely ignorant and promoting stupidity is not what rappers should be doing, and it is damaging to young impressionable fans.

It's always the lames living in the suburbs questioning why hood nikkas tried to do things to further themselves before rap, whether having a job or going to college. No way you really from the block & got a problem with nikkas doin whatever they got to do to make something of themselves. You can be from the hood & smart. I had a 4.0 at one point & I'm from the dirtiest block in my city. Family full of criminals, my sisters aint graduate HS, my brother graduated in ferris (juvie) , my moms dropped out & I ended up with a full ride to college. Now....according to you, 4 short years I spent in college erase the other 20 years I spent eating Ramen noodles & cut up hot dog meat Living next door to crackheads & killers I'm a soft nikka now because of 120 credits

If your story is true then you should be one of the main ones condemning the bafoonary that is 2chainz. You obviously saw something bigger than the hood and made steps to better yourself and get a education so you wouldn't be stuck where most of your peers are. Now that you have made something of yourself it has nothing to do with being soft but I'm sure you would advise your friends and family against the lifestyle that 2chainz promotes.
