Whenever black people talk about someone is an embarrassment to their race, they're embarrassed in front of white people. I can sit in a room full of people of all races and see some black hoodlum walk in and I won't feel like the rest of them are lookin at me funny. Even if they are, fukk em. What are they gonna do to me.
I never said he was an embarrassment to our race. I said he is an embarrassment to himself, and we shouldn't condone his purposeful ignorance just cause he's making a little money.
I ain't justifying anything, my point is, none of it matters. He's an entertainer! That's it. anything you get out of him after that is just icing on the cake.
Can't argue this too much
except I belive in giving back to the community and helping others. If I was in his position i would carry myself differently, and the entertainers that go down in history are the ones that take their celebrity status serious and work to be positive roll models. Tupac was as thugged out as any other rapper, but he still promoted intelligence, integrity, love, education and plenty of other positive things, which is why people remember him so fondly.
In what world do you live in that just because a person went to college, that he's qualified to be a role model, or a voice in the community? We don't know how he thinks? He might not want to be a voice. Maybe he send his family members thru college like T.I. Maybe he uses his wealth to enrich his own people. He doesn't have a moral obligation to his fans. All he has to do is make em dance or sing or what ever the fukk makes them buy the album.
I didnt say he SHOULD have a voice in the community I said he DOES. Due to the lack of successful and positive parents or role models kids look to celebrities for influences. If he doesn't want to be a role model to kids then he shouldn't promote his music to the kids. His music is made for and promoted to kids and young adults. You don't see too many 40 year old dudes runnin around listening to 2chainz. So if he is going to gain money and popularity by appealing to kids and young adults I feel he should offer them a positive roll model. You are correct he doesn't have a moral obligation to help anybody, but if our wealthy influential people don't help us who will?
Easiest solution, if you don't like it, don't patronize it.
I don't and most people with sense don't. The topic came up here on a DISCUSSION board so I gave my opinion.
