sam howell has one of the worst pocket presences in the league, dude runs into sacks like wants to get sacked

IDK, If I were mike mcdonald Id rather have better picks and get a QB I like, resetting the clock

even in the best case scenario with howell, lets say he has a great 2025 - then seattle has to give him the bag and they dont get a cheap qb on a rookie deal anymore

I guess if theyre all in on Howell then it makes sense, but I think they in trouble if they all in :manny: as a Niner fan I dont mind this :pachaha:

Bad QBs don’t randomly lead the league in yards. It doesn’t happen. So it’s telling that something is there

As far as the ‘restart the clock’ the problem with that is the team drafted TOO good and there’s too much talent to bottom out, so they almost have to be in win now mode. They are similar to the Jets. Ken Walker, JSN, Woolen, Witherspoon….yea, they need to win now.

Also bc of that talent, they will be drafting in the middle so you’re looking at the Mac jones, Kenny Pickett level QBs. Purgatory.

This is the best move bc Howell as starter in ‘25 will either flame out and you’ll have a top pick to take a QB, or he plays well and you got your guy. The upside is again if he succeeds he’s not like your typical game manager, if he succeeds it’ll be bc he can sling it

  • Round 1, pick No. 1, Jacksonville Jaguars: Trevor Lawrence, Clemson
  • Round 1, pick No. 2, New York Jets: Zach Wilson, BYU
  • Round 1, pick No. 3, San Francisco 49ers: Trey Lance, North Dakota State
  • Round 1, pick No. 11, Chicago Bears: Justin Fields, Ohio State
  • Round 1, pick No. 15, New England Patriots: Mac Jones, Alabama
  • Round 2, pick No. 64, Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kyle Trask, Florida
  • Round 2, pick No. 66, Minnesota Vikings: Kellen Mond, Texas A&M
  • Round 2, pick No. 67, Houston Texans: Davis Mills, Stanford
  • Round 4, pick No. 133, New Orleans Saints: Ian Book, Notre Dame
  • Round 6, pick No. 218, Indianapolis Colts: Sam Ehlinger, Texas

2022
  • Kenny Pickett, Pitt | Pittsburgh Steelers Round 1, Pick 20
  • Desmond Ridder, Cincinnati | Atlanta Falcons
  • Malik Willis, Liberty | Tennessee Titans

Every QB drafted between Trevor Lawrence and Brock Purdy is a backup, spot starter, and practice squad player. Awful QB draft classes

Somebody gotta explain the Caleb hate because he looks legit on film.

Merril provides good insights on what makes Caleb an ordinary QB. He is not a bad QB, but he is overpromoted for a 1st Rounder. He was the one that sounded the alarm on Manziel.

Basically he will need to sit on the bench and learn, not start right away.

he also said Jacob Eason over Herbert, Tua, and Jordan Love
Rated Mahomes a 2nd rounder
said Cam Newton's tape was atrocious

All these guys are guessing. Even the professionals get it wrong.

All the analysis does is build excitement for the draft process

this is a pretty bad take by you

first, howell did not lead the league in yards
second, the fact that he had as many yards as he did have is due to leading the league in attempts

this can be easily seen when you look at yards per attempt, where howell was ranked 24th in the league, behind such amazing qbs as AOC and Minshew

and if you look at AY/A, Howell ranked 30th with only Dobbs, Mac Jones and Bryce Young below him

and you take about seahawks in win-now mode is also bad...come on breh

I hate when people say that. If the cap is a myth, why did Buffalo, New Orleans, and LA have to make cuts? Restructuring deals doesn't mean the cap is fake, it just means you can kick the can down the road IF the players are open to playing ball. If Bosa and Mack said nah we don't want to restructure, they would have been cut before 4PM yesterday.
