top gun got a nomination which already shows you the category is a mess this year
Not sure how ana de armes is getting a best actress nom from a universally hated film besides oscar campaign bait
Not to mention her performance was terrible she legit couldn't even hide her accent in some scenes

I wish the oscars weren't so tone deaf lately and just went for straight prestige movies made for the artform and stopped with the only highlighting POC performers once at a time

And it has Jennifer Lawrence? Did they just throw that one over the fence?

Not that I’m really shocked at this point, but I do find it funny how an NC-17 misery porn flick can get its shine at the Oscars but not a contemporary horror film. Mia Goth should be right up there with Ana de Armas for her performance in Pearl. The Toni Collette snub still stings.

It's funny. The movies people most associate with Brendan Frasier are the ones I didn't care for all that much (The Mummy, Airheads, Encino Man...)

I liked him in School Ties and With Honors.

That's why

Cacs don't care about the slap. After all they still celebrate that cac Mel Gibson every time he churns something out.

And they snubbed him, Viola and Danielle because they were only advancing Asians this year. So from their perspective they had reached their non-white nomination quota

That being said Black people need to stop worrying about cac recognition because it doesn't come from a place of understanding but of tokenization.

Since cacs can never and will never understand Black culture so asking them to recognize achievements from the community is fundamentally absurd.
