I understand the argument - which is completely logical and factual - that priorities are literally being held up by two senators. It's true. But to me the bigger problem is a complete void of leadership that comes from the top. You've got a president who seems unable or unwilling to make his case to the American people. And a VP who seems completely lost in the sauce of talking points, to the point she can barely construct a coherent sentence. The BBB social bill should have passed months ago, yet there was no urgency and they allowed Manchin to run out the clock instead of smoking him out his hole. Even if they didn't get all their priorities...they should have gotten something and passed that shyt ages ago.
Now with the voting rights bill they cast the issue as good vs evil, an existential crisis...yet they showed no urgency or even attempted to reform anything. It's like going into a battle knowing you're going to lose and being fine with it because the singers will make poems about you and inspire the people. That's not how real life works. Nobody is watching this dumpster fire and getting fired up to vote. They should have started out seeking 60 votes and got whatever they could done. Advance the ball and live to fight another day. But instead, they got nothing done. It's just weird. They don't use their leverage when they have it (BBB), and then they over play their hand when they have no leverage (voting rights).
End of the day you can tell they didn't want to win those Georgia seats, man. They didn't want this power. When it became clear that the Nov 2020 congressional/senate wins weren't what they expected, they seemed reserved for Biden to be the bipartisan king of divided government. Working with his republican buddies to Get Things Done. Instead, they ended up winning the senate and raising expectations.
Nov 22 gonna be a disaster folks. And given that inflation isn't going away, 2024 will be even worse unless Trump is the nominee.
