I don’t know who you are referring to. If you are talking in general you have a valid point. I would concede that Main Stream Media is massively bias against Bernie. But, for someone like me, and many other Warren supporters this is not valid. I supported Bernie in 2016. I said the diversity argument they were using against Bernie was bullshyt back then. I understand the frustration of Bernie supporters with the MSM, but most of the Warren supporters (At least in this thread) are trying to argue in good faith.

I supported Sanders in 2016 but that point is exactly what most people have been saying - outside of his core supporters, he has made little traction in adding on.

I have no dog in this fight because the fanaticism on all sides is annoying and hostile to me for no reason.

People need to accept the fact that we all support who want and shouldn't be attacked or accused something because we don't support your favorites. This thread is supportive to be objective and informative and welcoming for ALL supporters of any candidate.

There's threads specifically for Sanders, Warren, Biden, etc. for the stanning and fanaticism.

Under what circumstance will the GOP or center-right Dems support a public option? Let's just state this here and now, any candidate or politician who says they want a public option is lying and being paid by the insurers to poison M4A. The notion that there can be any compromise with them is foolish from the jump because their sole purpose is to make profits off people's health. Now other countries have private along with single payer but what Bernie and Warren are striving for is something even greater than that. Considering that America allows corporations to pay off lawmakers to do what they want it is the only feasible option. Also M4A requires a huge movement and take down of the current system from the bottom up. This is why Bernie is better on this because he always starts from the bottom.

So are Bernie and Liz also lying? If a public option is impossible to conceive of because the GOP and center-right Dems won't support it, how in the hell is M4A even an option? What's Bernie's gameplan for getting M4A passed? "taking down the current system from the bottom up" is an unacceptably vague answer on such a serious issue.

Regardless, you don't want to start any negotiation from a place of weakness (public option). So the greatest compromise in this is for some kind of medicare/medicaid (or whatever you want to call it) expansion to salaries at a much higher level and keeping private until it fizzles out. Even this will take a large movement of voters to want it. If not vote for Biden.

Yes, this is why it's important that the Democratic candidate support M4A. Not because they will make it magically materialize by their sheer will, but because it establishes the terms of the debate.

Bernie wasted 4 years and did not make enough inroads into actual democrat circles and if he fails in 2020, it will be because he eschews relationships in party politics.

The anti-Bernie smears about his lack of diversity in 2016 was always bullshyt, he had (and still has!) very strong numbers amongst younger PoC. The real story was a massive generational divide within black and brown communities that caused a divergence. But that doesn't magically mean this objectively dumb argument against Warren is correct.

For me, the problem isn't supporting Sanders. He's a fantastic candidate with a lot of strong points that I wish his supporters would spend more time highlighting instead of calling Warren a compromised stooge. No one is pushing back on Sanders supporters for supporting Sanders, it's the ridiculous and disingenuous shytting on Liz that people are pushing back on. It's pretty obvious what's happening. Liz is picking up steam and on the march to nomination, and some Bernie supporters are cracking under the pressure.
