Eh it's probably another decade at least before winning Texas (either a Senate seat or electorally) is realistic. :yeshrug:

But I agree. If nothing else Beto has a great downballot effect in Texas and helped other Dems get elected.
Beto has a more conservative voting record than 77% of democrats in congress. I know he's from the south and all, but that shyt will fizzle out come national campaign time. People allowed that because he was running in Texas but he sure as hell aint about to do damage in New England, or the Pacific Northwest in this primary. I don't see any path to victory for him unless you think he's about to run through the South, which will not happen with Biden and Kamala in the race. I think son gives it a shot, realizes that aint it and then goes back to Texas and tries for the Senate.

Whenever I hear white men say, we have to nominate someone that will win us Republican voters... :Melowhat:
you dont think thats true for this election though? we gonna act like this election isn't gonna come down to 4 or 5 states, thanks to the electoral college...and depend on flipping trump voters who realize they fukked up? it's CLEARLY about winning republican voters :dead: ***moderate republican voters

i get your disgust at the sentiment, but it doesn't change the reality of the situation. we're not electing the mayor of san francisco

I agree and disagree. I cringed at Chuck Schumer's comment about "losing blue-collar whites but we will gain in the suburbs" before the election.

but resources still gotta be used to try and get back the Obama-Obama-Trump voters that were lost in '16

obviously more of them should be used to get first time voters in states that were lost
