Voting to break the duopoly will lead to a single state party of republicans. Do you want that?

They're already one big party with two wings.

As long as the two party shell game is in place, you got wolves chasing you into fox den at best. Best time to break the duopoly is while one of the parties is weak and running the same losing plays for the world to see. Let them lose, let them die.

This strategy of holding together something that the so called architects of his country never wanted to happen is what we have done for centuries. Imagine if we took just the last 40-50 years to stop being cowardly and use the leverage we have to a better end than another 40-50 years of tug of war between these private corporations only to still be discussing problems that we have been for the last 100 years.

fukk that...a viable third party doesn't have to win the election, not right off the bat at least. Forming an organization big enough to make you lose is POWER. People like to decry the left and say they aren't serious about power, this is how you get serious. You can either reckon with a viable third party as a voting bloc or lose.

I think another element is it takes for politicians is being ostracized, ignored and banished in the meantime and likely difficult to hold whatever office you have in the short term. It takes a lot of conviction and courage and sustained courage to go this route.

Hillary was the anointed one.

She had the green light long before the primary started. Hence it really only being a two part race between her and “outsider” Bernie. O malley had a better chance of scooping all the water of the the Atlantic with a spoon than seriously being a threat.

2020 was an open field with Biden getting in last minute once it was clear none of the other establishment Dems stood a chance vs Bernie.

if you think the democrats are going to let mcconnell break democracy in half by holding up a judge from 2021 until 2025, and then only if the republicans win the election, im not sure how you get out of bed in the morning :yeshrug: what you're saying is absolutely retarded. he got away with it in 2016 because it was an election year, and democrats thought hillary would win anyway

that is COMPLETELY different from america electing biden in 2020, ginsberg stepping down in 2021, and mcconnell vowing to not nominate a judge for 4 years. not even sean hannity could defend that action.

This is absolutely hindsight.

If in 2008 you told any mainstream political hack on Fox news that a R Senate would deny a Democratic president a SC justice they would have laughed you out the room.

The damage is done with the SC regardless, but any system that depends on an institution that can be hacked by a minority fringe isn't worth much to begin with.

The end to O'Malley's career is embarrasing imo. A 2 term governor of a state with a large black population can't win the primary? Says everything about him.
