The Grizzlies weren't making the finals, did you not see what the fukk the Warriors did? They completely took Tony Allen out of the series by realizing he can't shoot and putting a goddamn center on him, because of the fact the zone principles would allow Bogut to basically defend "space".

Who said anything about Michael Jordan not dominating? :russ: The 60 win Knick teams and many of those "great" 90 squads would be food today because of the fact they couldn't shoot the 3. The whole premise is you dudes constantly saying the league was better in the 90s, teams were better...but they'd get WASHED today.

No, the Warriors wouldn't have trouble scoring in the 90s, defense was not better then. The 3's are a reaction to the fact loading the strongside got so effective that taking the 3 was the natural evolution of the game, if handchecking were so mighty and powerful teams would have been forced into 3s.

Handchecking, but handchecking....but handchecking! always the same shyt.

It's not just about handchecking, it's how physical the game was. You think curry and klay are just gonna stand and shoot open shots unimpeded well you have another thing coming. Curry would've been getting "chucked" rerouted and forced to do other things besides shooting 3s. You can admit they changed the rules to favor offensive players today. The nba wanted more scoring and the big man died, so guess what. They said you can't touch guys outside the paint or else it's a foul.

Shaq couldn't defend them, how that stop him from winning.

I'm sure kareem, moses, parish, cartwright, ewing, wouldn't be able to defend them as well. How would that affect the outcome?
How would it affect the outcome if a team couldn't defend action you run 40+ times a game? Is that a serious question? Or are you just a 90s stan dismissing all critiques

Are you saying that the big man is no longer an integral part of the game anymore?? That post play has been truly been replaced by drive and kick? That the big man importance has been reduced to least important?

Your entire post fell apart in the first line :russ:

In 1994-1995 the Houston Rockets led the league in 3 point attempts, their total made 3s increased by 200+ threes from the previous year. Why? Because the 3 point line was moved in to 22 feet all around, which put a huge emphasis on supporting post players with 3 point shots. Yall just go with the tried and true talking points.

You say the Sonics would give teams run today, yet they lost in the first round to an offensively challenged team that could defend and hit the 3 :dead:

Every good team has a rim protector. I don't want to get into whether it's more or less important, but in an era where people are constantly attacking the hoop, you need someone to block and contest shots.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?

Since when are Curry and Klay just standing around shooting open shots? :wtf: You're acting like they aren't working to get those shots, like the Warriors aren't running a set, or Curry isn't shaking down some 6'9" dude with a 7'3" wingspan before splashing that shyt from 28.

You watch games and basically don't understand what you're seeing, this post kind of confirms that :scust:

Rim protection is different from post play...this era has no post play..reason why the drive and kick and ball movement is so important against these zone like defenses...if these teams had post play play they wouldn't have to rely on the three as much..

Where did I say any of that?

The Rockets led the league in 3 pointers attempted because of the fact they had Hakeem and putting floor spacers around him made sense. That is going to happen again, a great post man will come along and the team he's on is going to surround him with shooters at PG, SG, SF and PF.

Also, @Hersh the ideal lineup is basically what the Rockets had in 94-95 in terms of build, but with a modern PG that can create off the dribble.

point is they won't just be able to do as they please. The moment curry calls that pick he's going to get rerouted and not allowed to come off clean and get the looks he's used to getting.

They had a stat in the houston series that curry was 15 of 18 on uncontested 3pt shots. Houston's defense was remarkably bad in that series.

I'm interested on his take when you argued with him.

Most of his radio show is arguing agaist dumb ass sport fans takes so it's kinda frustrating when topics like yesteday's come up and he only replys to stupid people :heh:
yeah, I hate when he does that, But I think he picks out the worst people to respond to on air at times.

I was actually surprised he engaged me on twitter like he did. This was a few years back so I don't remember everything, I think it might have been a debate on the 90s Bulls vs the Big 3 Heat. but I think the core of his argument was Jordan wouldn't be able to dominate like he did vs todays players. His entire arugemt was based on the premise that athletes are bigger, stronger, faster. My argument was Michael Jordan was still a 20-23 point scorer in 2003 at 38- 40 years old, I think he'd be okay in todays game in his athletic prime. He came back with, yeah but he shot a bad shooting %. I think I said his % was on par with most SGs during that time. for example Jordan in 2001-02 avg 23 points on 41% from the field, while Vince Carter avg 25 on 43% and AI avg 31 on 40%. this is Jordan at 38-39 and this is Vince fukkING Carter in his athletic prime, maybe the most athletic SG ever and Jordan's numbers were right there with him(and Jordan had a bad knee that season). so yeah, I think Mike would have been ok. mostly because not only was Mike athletic, but he was probably the most skilled SG of all time. Mike's footwork and post skills were unfukkwithable. I also said that his 100 yard dash point didn't mean anything in basketball. it meant something in football or track, but not basketball.

basically he makes it seem like stars from the 90s are relics as if it was 50 years ago. keep in mind Kobe, Pierce, Duncan, Garnett, Dirk all began their career in the 90s AND ALL have won Finals MVPs(except KG) within the last decade

Oh did they?

Out of the top 25 best 3 point shooting times of all time, only 2 of them won the title that year...And they were teams that had transcedent talents of LeBron James and Tim Duncan...

Why are you talking about "all-time" when this is a relatively new trend?

Hawks, Warriors, Rockets, Clippers and Cavs were the top 5 three point shooting teams.
