$15.00 an hour isn't a lot of money.

Most of y'all taking this literally and ain't digging deeper.

Yt ppl take home more than y'all think. Yes, it's yts working for $15 hr but understand the dynamics of generational wealth...

Sad that y'all think most of yt america lives in poverty, how our ppl do... They have land, wealth and human capital... Connections. Things they won't acknowledge to you.

If you making 15, don't find a second job, you'll only burn out. Instead, look into an automated hustle... The goal is to get paid by the least amount of effort.

ummm the average white person does not have generational wealth lol

I would advocate a part time minimum wage for high schoolers and 2nd jobs, and a full time minimum wage for "real" jobs.

I don't need the 10th grader flipping burgers at Mickey D's making $20 an hour because some grown woman can't feed her kids on less.

But at the same time, I don't want grown people busting their butts in a hot ass factory 40+ hours a week making $8 an hour either.

Every McDonald’s near me is 24 hours. What ‘high school’ student is working at McDonald’s right now (11:45 am on a Tuesday)?

You can't even go on a decent vacation making $15 an hour

:mjlol: See what I mean? That’s why discussions like this will always be all over the place - people’s lifestyles vary too much

Like I said, on 31k a year you won’t be able to live like a mega church pastor, but you’ll be able to cover all your basics and have some left over.

I challenge any of you to list your expenses.

Going on a decent vacation should be standard plus it's healthy, you're making it seem like that's something extreme. No one said anything about living a life of luxury.

This is also true. Also in if you live in NY and Cali, in Cali you have to account for a car. In NYC, you can just take the subway every day. So you can save money.

Only thing is, you won't be able to live alone. Most places won't even let you rent out an apartment unless you make 40 times the monthly rent.

This is how I know cats story telling. Most apartments mandate 3 times the rent. if your rent is 800, you wont get approved making 15 an hour. they know you can't truly afford it.

But we aren't talking about 10 years ago. We talking about now.

The world hasn’t changed that much man

2500 a month is enough to live off of. Even if you have to get a roommate (which everybody in ATL seems to have) it can be done.

But at the same time do you have kids? Child support? A cat I graduated high school with had 5 kids at 18 years old...he’d have to make 50k a year just to live a “normal” life so 15 an hour won’t EVER cut it, but that’s HIM not ME.

All of our situations are different like that.

We talking about a vacation to the Bahamas? Hawaii?

Or new Orleans and Vegas...Because I went on those types of vacations a few times but I couldn’t afford the Bahamas
