It's been painfully obvious the main reason rethuglicans hate the ACA because Obama was the President that passed it...

They had their inbred moron base believing the ACA and Obamacare are two different things...:stopitslime:

Watch whatever plan they come up with will be identical in principle to the ACA...The ACA won't be the only thing this slimy filth will take credit for, watch this clown Trump take credit for "destroying ISIS" when Obama's plan in effect right now is two months away from liberating Mosul...

just wait till they take obama's infrastructure plan.
Yeah I think it's hilarious that Trump talked about an infrastructure plan when Obama tried to get his passed in Congress in 2011, and Republicans wouldn't pass it because Obama was going to raise taxes for those making over 1 million in order to pay for the plan.

Now they will probably pass it by raising taxes for the middle class.

Seems like the plan is to screw the poor families that really benefited from Obamacare and distribute it to families on the upper income scale. ($97,000)

I think middle class families($97,000+) should also get subsidies, but not at the expense of working class families.

Which is why a universal system is the only real solution. Otherwise pols are just going to pit group against groups.

And white middle class cons whites will be like

:dj2:

I blame almost all bad economic policy on this group of people. They are the main detriment to making progress in this country.

Thom Hartmann was talking about this on his show

The ACA was proposed by GOP in 1972. I have to look up the video but this is their policy.
The ACA is Richard Nixon's alternative health policy proposal to Ted Kennedy and the Democrats universal healthcare coverage policy proposal.

That is why they ACA will never lead to or be considering universal healthcare. It's primary function is to be an alternative to that end goal.

The key component of the ACA is the socialist aspect of it. People who don't need healthcare buying into it. That's different from what anybody had proposed before. The fundamental thing about healthcare IS THAT'S IT'S SOCIALIST. Just like car insurance, THE ONLY REASON ITS SO CHEAP IS BECAUSE EVERYBODY HAS TO GET IT. Otherwise it would cost you more than the value of the car to insure it. So the repugs try to frame it as an attack on our American values when at its core insurance is inherently socialist. If the only people who paid insurance are people with accidents you'd have to be a billionaire to afford it.

I have epilepsy, is that going to mean i can't get insurance once this shyt goes into effect because its a pre existing condition? My medicine is 1500 a month with no insurance.
You're probably fukked. They'll be able to deny you coverage again or at the very least make coverage cost so much it would be unaffordable. The rich elite wanted to get rid of the ACA because it cost them money not because it was problematic. The reality is they don't really want to replace it with anything which is evident by the fact that they had 6+ years to float a viable replacement and haven't presented one. When people like Trump stand up there and say they want everyone to be covered they're lying.

Whatever we get is going to be as much of a downgrade as companies going from pension plans to 401ks.

Trump may not enforce individual health insurance mandate: aide

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Trump administration may no longer enforce a rule requiring individual Americans to carry health insurance or pay a penalty if they do not, a senior White House official said on Sunday

Speaking on ABC's "This Week" program, Kellyanne Conway, counselor to the president, said President Donald Trump "may stop enforcing the individual mandate."

Separately, on CBS' "Face the Nation" show, she reiterated Republican promises that no one would lose their health insurance under Obamacare while a replacement is being developed.

"For the 20 million who rely upon the Affordable Care Act in some form, they will not be without coverage during this transition time," she said.

On Friday Trump signed an executive order concerning the 2010 healthcare law, urging U.S. agencies to "waive, defer, grant exemptions from, or delay the implementation" of provisions deemed to impose fiscal burdens on states, companies or individuals.

Healthcare experts had speculated that Trump could expand exemptions from the individual mandate.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, speaking on "Fox News Sunday," reiterated Republican promises to replace Obamacare and allow patients to buy health insurance across state lines using health savings accounts.

"We’re going to move carefully in conjunction with the administration to repeal and replace it with things like health savings accounts and interstate health insurance sales and high-risk pools at the state level to take care of people who have pre-existing conditions." he said.

Last week Republican Representative Tom Price, Trump's nominee to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, told the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, that an overhaul of Obamacare will initially focus on individual health plans sold on online exchanges and the Medicaid health insurance program for low-income Americans.

He added that the revamp would not immediately tackle changes to Medicare, the federal health insurance program for those 65 and older and people with disabilities.

Trump has said he wants to keep some elements of Obamacare, such as allowing young adults to be covered under their parents' insurance. He is in favor of plans that use health savings accounts and the sale of insurance across state lines.

Health saving accounts don't benefit people with lower incomes. Many of those 20 million people won't be helped by that.

I love hearing people talk about they don't want/need health insurance.

Muhfukka if you wear a seat belt, you need health insurance.
If you put a coat on when it gets cold and keep your distance from people who are sick, you need health insurance.

If at any point in your life you've attempted to avoid injury, YOU NEED HEALTH INSURANCE.

Miss me with that garbage.
