Glad it's being repealed but wish they had a replacement ready to go.

Obama must be like :sadcam: right now. He's being erased in the first week.

He can never be erased and will go down as one of the top pres's in history. They haven't even thought about a replacement.

Uhh based off what? He's certainly not one of the worst but his 8 years look pretty average all across the board.

He might be one of the most personally likable but that might be about it.

Senate Takes Major Step Toward Repealing Health Care Law

By THOMAS KAPLAN and ROBERT PEARJAN. 12, 2017

  • WASHINGTON — Senate Republicans took their first major step toward repealing the Affordable Care Act on Thursday, approving a budget blueprint that would allow them to gut the health care law without the threat of a Democratic filibuster.

The vote was 51 to 48. During the roll call, Democrats staged a highly unusual protest on the Senate floor to express their dismay and anger at the prospect that millions of Americans could lose health insurance coverage.

The vote, which concluded just before 1:30 a.m., followed a marathon session in which senators took back-to-back roll call votes on numerous amendments, an arduous exercise known as a vote-a-rama.

The approval of the budget blueprint, coming even before President-elect Donald J. Trump is inaugurated, shows the speed with which Republican leaders are moving to fulfill their promise to repeal President Obama’s signature domestic policy achievement — a goal they believe can now be achieved after Mr. Trump’s election.

The action by the Senate is essentially procedural, setting the stage for a special kind of legislation called a reconciliation bill. Such a bill can be used to repeal significant parts of the health law and, critically, is immune from being filibustered. Congress appears to be at least weeks away from voting on legislation repealing the law.

Republican leaders say they will work closely with Mr. Trump developing legislation to repeal and replace the health care law, but it is unclear exactly how his team will participate in that effort.

Diplomacy: Iran peace deal/opening up Cuba back to the us.
Economy: Massive consecutive job growth/saved us from the worst financial disaster since the GD.
Prison reform work, Saddam just to name a few.

Someone had a great post a few days ago listing his outstanding accomplishments. I'll try to find it later. Makes it fairly clear that he will go down as one of the best

The fact that they have nothing to replace it is the whole entire point.

You can't separate one from the other.

That would be like banning cars cause of pollution but having no alternative.

Politics for you guys is some kind of dogma that overwhelmes the logic part of your brain.

'Nothing' would be better than this disaster.

it may be a shyt bill to some but whoever constructed that thing, I tip my hat to them. Masterfully written so that if something like this was to inevitably happen and no better plan was proposed, shyt would hit the fan for the worse....
