That's in hindsight and years after the fact...the whole point of taking a paycut, signing 3 superstars, and throwing a parade and announcing you'd win 7 rings is because all parties involved believed they were creating a superteam...and it made sense at the time
He never said they would win 7 rings watch the whole thing. And I never said on paper they didn't look like a super team. They found out they weren't so super. On paper the 2012 lakers and 2013 nets did and look how that turned out

Kobe is worth every penny of that

Some of y'all have no respect for the game.

Can't you say that he deserves every penny of that while also saying that it was a bad personnel decision by the Lakers?

I'm all for players getting paid. They provide the labor and should be paid whatever they can command. That being said, if you're looking at this from a basketball GM viewpoint or a competition viewpoint, this is not good.

Kobe my dude but that was a bad move.....Dr. Buss just tried to sit up in his casket....:smh:

Kobe's marketability is worth every bit of that money. And the fact that he's stayed with them his whole career.

I dont understand y'alls logic. People come to see Kobe play.

Why? He should be rewarded first of all, he's a rarity in todays game and has been for a decade and a half.

If he comes back averaging 25ppg, who else would you have gotten to fill that void? Who's to say you could get Carmelo or someone else? Who's to say you really want him or some of these other guys instead of Kobe?

I don't care about averaging ppg. I'd take a lot of people before I'd take Melo on my team.

I like Kobe, definitely in my view a top 5 player all time. I enjoy seeing him play and I am sincerely happy he is getting paid for what he has done and what he means for the Lakers.

Doesn't change the fact that this was a poor basketball decision by the Lakers. Sorry. Even some Laker fans, the ones that don't play a character, are scratching their heads.

Kobe only thinks of himself, but Dwight doesn't?! That's why Dwight got his Orlando coach fired, why he kept the fans in limbo for months before making a decision to go to LA, why he kept LA fans waiting for months before making the decision to go to Houston. Dwight is a selfish player. He wants a ring, but doesn't want to put in the work and wait for one. Kobe has paid his dues. He didn't win the rings alone, but he doesn't just want to win, he plays his ass off to win.

You think LeBron isn't selfish? Why do you think he went to Miami? To get a ring....or two...or three...or four...cause he wasn't going to get one with Cleveland and the ring was more important to him than getting money. You think he left for Miami cause he cares about the organization and wants to see them do well and or because he thinks Wade is such a great guy, so he wanted to help him get a ring? Let's not mention the way he left...tacky.

Everyone is self motivated....let's not pretend that LeBron didn't make the best move for HIMSELF.

At the end of the day Kobe keeps on talking about the only thing that matters is ring #6 blah blah blah

But his recent actions contradict that. I call BS on him. Between this and his HORRIBLE Pitch to Dwight, it's clear he will NEVER co exist with another superstar again.

It's koo though if the Lakers org was dumb enough to do it, don't have to worry bout them winning for a while.

get ya money Bean:lolbron:

Well...I'm not discounting this...But I was looking at it from the perspective of having enough cap space to get free agents and push for a championship.....

Kobe will probably average 30 minutes a game for the next 2 years but he's going to be your highest player?......I don't know man
