Awesome i'm cool with this. This will keep the team mediocre and unthreatening for the other West teams to deal with.
:yeshrug:

The FO was stuck. Either pay Kobe or the fans don't come. Maybe they're prepared to take a huge luxury tax hit for the next few years. I have no clue what Mitch and Jim's plans are but they obviously have something.

At the end of the day Kobe keeps on talking about the only thing that matters is ring #6 blah blah blah

But his recent actions contradict that. I call BS on him. Between this and his HORRIBLE Pitch to Dwight, it's clear he will NEVER co exist with another superstar again.

It's koo though if the Lakers org was dumb enough to do it, don't have to worry bout them winning for a while.

get ya money Bean:lolbron:

Kobe's an alpha male though. You should understand that it has always been winning his way or the highway. Why else was Shaq run outta LA? Kobe was gonna leave cause he wanted to prove he could win without Shaq.

Kobe's a true alpha male and only chumps and pussies can't understand that sort of mentality.

Lakers had to take a pretty calculated risk. You could risk Bean just saying "fukk it" and retiring if was offered $10 million. The Lakers' business model would collapse at that point. Some of you forget that the Lakers had a 320 game sellout streak end this year mainly because Kobe was out. Unfortunately, with the new TV contract and the rabid fanbase, just turning off a revenue stream as big as Kobe is a non-starter.

This was just as much about the Lakers riding the wave and keeping money in there pockets as much as it was paying Kobe.

If there is one franchise that won't be hard up for money or star power anytime soon it's the Lakers. There has been no shortage of either for the franchise throughout history. They have a billion dollar TV contract that isn't gonna just go away if Kobe's gone and if that was the case it's gonna happen eventaully...the nikka can't play forever. Beyond that what was Kobe's leverage? If he retires then he gets nothing and is forced to live the same puragatory Mike's been in for the last decade. The Lakers are the premier franchise in sports over the last 3 decades and they are out here acting like the Bobcats or Bucks or some shyt. Begging Dwight to stay and get overpaid and now bending over for Kobe before he's even returned from injury. There is no way that this is a good deal for them.

If it's as bad as a move as some of you pretend it to be, you should be rejoicing, but you're actually upset that Bean got paid.

Kobe out here cashing out while y'all out here dining on expired canned goods. :umad:

No shyt its not a good deal. They have to pay an aging, out of prime asset $80m over the next 3 years. But they really didn't have a choice.

Kobe will be gone eventually, but as of right now if he feels and tells everyone he can still contribute, fans won't let the Lakers org let Kobe go. He's going to go on his own terms.

Easy to spot the cacs. They're the ones in the thread mad at Kobe for cashing out instead of being mad at the front office.

this whole team building and cap talk is a front as well

cacs have been well known to hate brothas making money in general when it comes to the NBA

why else do you see them catchin feelings everytime a young black man leaves college after 1 year for the pros

Why not? Again I ask what was Kobe's leverage? These aren't the Bobcats.

cac.....you ain't foolin anyone

its slip ups like that.....that expose ya'll on this site

real black folk know that sort of word couldn't possibly come from a black person.....or at the very least a black person who has been raised by black folks......maybe your some mixed half cac half black co0n whose been raised by some racist cacs :yeshrug: that might explain why that cac phrase came so easily to you

either way just know that the words "race card" ain't a part of our vocabulary......its impossible for a real black man to think racism is just some card game.......unlike you cacs we gotta live thru it everyday

Holy shyt. Talk about about an awful contract. They don't even know how Kobe is going to perform when he comes back. I was hoping they would sign him to a 30mil/ 2yr contract or a contract similar to the one Duncan signed. So we would have enough room to sign some big name FAs in 2014/2015, but this is dumbass Mitch Kupchak we are talking about here. :why:

What kinda contract did Duncan sign?
