After doing some thinking, I think it's time to take the 3 year offer they gave deGrom and give it to Verlander. He probably has two seasons left on that arm, and that matches up with the window Max has left. Verlander also enjoys the spotlight unlike deGrom.
After that get Senga. He's younger than Rodon and Rodon's injury risk is just as high as Verlander's age risk.
I would also like to see Alonso get an extension before the season starts. Let's buy out his arbitration years, and get him locked in before he gets the big paydays

I 100% agree with this. If they can't get Verlander, bring Bassitt back. They should extend Alonso and McNeil as well. Of course re sign Nimmo. Some people might view the offseason as a disappointment if they don't get Verlander and decide not to get Rodon, but I'd rather hold the big bag for Shohei.

I read on MLBTraderumors that Verlander's been waiting for that 3rd year on Houston's offer, but apparently its not happening. So that might be where we can swoop in and steal him.

I think the only QO player I'd be willing to sign is Trae Turner due to his athleticism and the versatility. Probably only a possibility if they don't get Verlander imo.
Correa would be crazy too at 3rd but I kinda want Baty to take that and that would be the best role for him imo. Correa probably wants to play SS anyway so he's probably not a good fit anyway. No QO though.

As far as bullpen, they can figure that out. I wouldn't mind Ottavino back but I'd want someone above him on the totem pole. Rogers/Chafin would be good. They could move on from May but if hes back on a one year deal I wouldn't have a problem with it. Wouldn't mind if Williams is back as well.
