As for the Mets FO, we just lost the best pitcher we've had in decades to the fukking Texas Rangers. I'm trying to not be filled with typical Mets fan pessimism but I don't have faith in them bringing in another big name in free agency

I'm shocked deGrom left, but I'm not mad about it one bit. He's a FA he earned this right.

HOWEVER

With Cohen's money and some improvements overall this team can contend and make a deep run. I have zero trust with Eppler though, he's the wild card in all of this.

I know Verlander is 50 years old but why not. Yes hes old but he knows what it takes to get thru October. Im usually pessimistic at times especially with the Mets but Im optimistic right now.

I wish we would have kept deGrom for the rest of his career like we did Wright, but that's an insane amount of time for an injury prone older pitcher. At least Texas had such an insane offer, it's hard to get mad at him for taking it.

The best thing is, he didn't go to LA or Atlanta and we never have to see him again

I wonder where Billy goes from here. Verlander might have 2 good years at most from here, nobody knows what Senga will be and Rodon hasn't been the most durable pitcher himself
