What is everybody using to protect the funds in their coin base accounts?.....is there any way to completely eliminate any chance that a hacker could steal your funds?

I did but only copped 1 coin. It was all the extra cash I had at the time.

So you have to transfer your coins to that? Theres a fee involved right? What do you do when you ready to cash out? Transfer back to an exchange?

If you wanna keep it on on coinbase setup a vault : Bitcoin, Litecoin, & Ethereum Vault
Its pretty straightforward and allows for a nice layer of additional security.
Edit: Also the Google Authentication app is your friend. If you havent setup two factor authentication on the email associated with your CB account as well as within CB itself do it now.
And no SMS doesnt count.
