I agree with this. They won't do it. But it doesn't excuse the fact that they should be held accountable...I've accepted that it won't happen, but to totally deny the argument which some posters are doing (and wearing crowns at that) is crazy

what exactly are you saying here, that African Americans have to do MORE in order to be eligible for reparations?

unfortunately that time has passed...no black person alive today was a slave. You are bringing up atrocities that happened after the industrial revolution. You begging for reparations is begging like a punk because you were never anyone's slave...you just want to be a victim, instead of taking charge of your life.

If not reparations for slavery, since it'll be hard to trace race lineages, since not all Black Americans were slaves, and some slaves blood lines are now white or another race, why not pay out reparations for Jim crow? and instead of paying out money, which would be giving a man a fish. Allow all black Americans and their descendants affected by Jim Crow and institutionalized racism; be allowed a free 4 year university education.

it's not even that i'm rooting against anyone getting their just due. I'm just trying to think from a logical standpoint. from what i've found, if i'm not mistaking, in a civil case, the burden of proof is still on the plaintiff.

Right, and this is the purpose of criminals to get rid of the evidence after they've committed a crime. BUT, when a criminal apologies for the crime, apologies for destroying the evidence it used in commision of the crime they have admitted GUILT and it is no longer necessary for the VICTIM to prove that their claim is true. The Burdon of proof lies on the CRIMINAL to prove that the extent of what the victim is saying IS NOT true.

but when you think about it, 300,000 is NO WHERE CLOSE to what is owed to the VICTIMS of this HEINOUS crime committed against US. You can't set a price on what has been done and what is currently being done to our people. This is GENERATIONS of free labor these people have recieved from our ancestors. multiple LIFETIMES! Could you survive on 300,000 dollars for a lifetime???? Neither could your ancestors on the $300,000 equavalent in their time. So a $300,000 thousand dollar check wouldn't even compensate us for ONE of our ancestors LIFETIME of work let alone their PAIN AND SUFFERING.

I'll take a check for whatever a 5 (OH YES, they were working children) to 70 year lifetime at 10.10 (the agreed upon current minimum wage necessary to survive) an hour for 12 hours of work a day 7 days a week comes out too and be willing to call it even with these folks. EVEN THOUGH THEY WOULD STILL BE GETTING OFF EASY.

Problem is, America waited too damn long to try to pay back for reparations. Other racial groups got it back when the victims were still alive. We, on the other hand, are still waiting 150 years for our shyt, but the ones that went through slavery first-hand are long dead. Plus even their descendants don't have much track record of what their slave ancestors were. Add the fact that post-slavery black immigrants that came to America in the late 1800s to mid 1970s that never had their ancestors in American slavery. On top of the c00ns that deny that they black and so forth.

Its way too complicated to be solved overnight, thanks to America waiting for the slaves to die out back in the day. Even so, that would be in the trillions of dollars, and to pay back 40 million people in the form of cash would cripple the American economy (the US economy is worth 25 trillion and the reparations is 100 trillion. How can they get that kind of money in cash?).

Best thing that we can do is give free education and free (private) housing or free businesses to us. Can't wait for the white man to do anything at this point or else our progress will be fukked.
