never got to the problem in the first place ?
Reading the article this seems to be more of an issue
of administrative incompetence not the failure of inner city schools
to utilize new found resources.

-learning materials , again just in the books its in the hundreds of thousands every school years per school per year
- after-school/in school special programs for the kids ,hundreds of thousand to lower millions per year per school
-treating "special needs" kids millions per year, this includes providing specialist and don't even get my started on the pharmaceutical connection all of this
so much money to be stolen and so little time to do it all in
and I've seen for the receipts for all those and this is just things i can think off of the top of my head and that i can type from cell while leaving work

this was zuckerberg doing the charitable billionaire act with the normal give and forget attitude associated with charitable giving...no demands for a positive outcome and no further involvement after the check clears...even if zuckerberg wanted to do the right thing he couldnt because he dont know enough about education..philanthropy..politics..or graft...

They underfunded the schools and locked up the budget and contacts for most of my adult life what do you expect to happen?
As far as charter schools go they're an obvious transfer of wealth and assets from the state, it's legalized theft and does nothing more than enrich a select few and hide the pitfalls and performance of education in this country.
