Zuckerberg gave New Jersey $100MM to fix Newark's schools, and it looks like it was a was a waste

would love to get the big homie @Newark88 's perspective on this.
Zuckerberg is smart, but he is too idealistic with his money. Giving these dudes 100mil with no oversight, no concrete plan, no nothing. But from his perspective the money bought great PR at the time. Not saying he was in on the scam, just that he's not going to take the fall. The kids are hurt tho.
If I was rich I'd never just give a check to people or organizations. If you want me to give you money, I'm going to spend it to make sure it makes sense. Schools need money? Aite I'll renovate the building, or buy school supplies, or AP text books, etc...something that is concrete, that I can check on by visiting the school and saying "oh yea, there are the computers I bought. Good."

People in new jersey havnt realized that the state is run by crooks. To busy being happy that poor people are being arrested and brutalized.
This is Zuckerbergs fault in a lot of ways. Instead of just giving the money over, maybe friend should have compiled a team to assess what schools need to make sure each school got the funding for the items on their list. Instead he threw money at a problem and it stuck to someones bank account.
Zuckerberg probably is good money in Jersey though.
