colour issues and lack of scope aside...she is not that great of an actress too begin with.I believe that the racism Nina Simone encoutered had to be felt at some level and i dont believe Zoe has the range or insight to portray a dark skinned bi polar genius.That woman was so layered,from the anger and broken dreams to the hyper sexuality and her time in europe when the US shytted on her for being too pro black(she was singing kill whitey songs at concerts).She is the blueprint for a lot of female singers with a social agenda.

This movie will bomb just like that Miles Davis one will, Most people don't have a clue who Nina Simone was so I don't see why you would bother to change Zoe Saldana's appearance, The actors in most biopics don't look anything like the people they are portraying, it's about the story.

The Simone estates twitter account is a disgrace for what they did, Saldana is just doing her job and trying to bring awareness of who Nina was.

Lighter-skinned Blacks have been used as the face of Black people for years, one dark-skinned cat portraying a light-skinned man shouldn't even bother anyone at this point.

Denzel Washington isn't that much darker than Malcolm X, plus he's face actually looked close to Malcolm's in the film

in any case, I know Zoe is used to "cosplaying" for her movie roles, she should've bowed out the minute they told her that she had to put on make up and prosthetics to play a real life persont.
