People really can't see why they gave him the max? :dahell:

In terms of pure talent he's a potentially transcendant basketball player. When he is on the court we've seen how unstoppable he is offensively. That shyt does not grow on trees.

And of course you'll respond with what good is that if he's never on the court. But the reality is what is the alternative for the Pelicans? They're not a free agent destination so holding onto cap space ain't gonna do shyt. Do they just blow it up and hope on the small chance they get another superstar in the draft? Those are long odds.

Things don't look great for Zion. We all know he doesn't play enough but the Pelicans are obviously betting on an Embiid like situation where he eventually gets past the injury issues and can get on the court on a more consistent basis. You think a GM is gonna take the risk of letting Zion walk and then he figures his health out and becomes a franchise player for another team? That's instant hall of shame infamy. Way bigger fukk up than giving a max to a player who while has been injured a lot has also been very impressive when he has played.

But I could definitely see a situation where Pelicans cut their losses in the summer and see what they can get for him, because I have no doubt there are teams in the league that would be willing to take that risk on Zion just because in terms of pure talent he's undeniable.

Above the fray.

Or someone else’s savior

You’re not being realistic.

They took him #1 and he showed that he is an unstoppable explosive force the likes of which we have never seen before.

There was no way there were gonna do that
This is the kind of hyperbole that people bought into, that blinded them to the realities and legit criticisms from the earlier pages.

Young Charles Barkley, Shaq, Larry Johnson, Admiral, Kemp, Vince played in the same league. And people still ran with superlatives about Zion. Based on dunk reel highlights.

Griffin is the GM for a Benson-owned organization. :pachaha:

All he has to do is exercise a little cronyism, and he will maintain his position for a while. :jordanfacepalm: @NOSaintsFan02 @taker597 @clutch @horizon @Inertia Creeps

Given that Zion is out for the remainder of the season, he will have played 114 out of a possible 328 games since he was drafted.
34.7% or 35% for a round number.

That's highly disappointing.
And he's still played more games than Embiid through four seasons. It's certainly not a good start but there is some precedent.

He also showed that if he waddle around on the court to long he going to get hurt and once that happens its over.

Has Zion EVER actually came back from an injury since he been in the league?

I aint never seen this nikka get hurt twice...cause after he get hurt once he shut it down...

Of course the ATL
I understand that’s the conundrum that they faced :mindblown:

David Griffin is under tremendous pressure because he takes him #1. Everyone knows his an explosive talent but he’s keeps getting hurt

Not major injuries but little knick knack shyt but he’s under so much pressure he sits him every time he gets knicked for extra long periods of time.

This is his last shot at being a GM in the league

He’s in a tough spot

Why you keep making excuses for Griffin? :dwillhuh: Y’all keep acting like injuries ain’t a category for how we define busts, it ain’t just stats. I hate to say it but Zion’s a bust at this point in his career
