The only argument Vince has is that their streaming audience was built upon the foundation of their WWE career so he should get something. I mean, fair enough. So why doesn't he just take a small percentage instead of shutting everything down? However you look at it he's being a bytch about it. You'd think he'd be pushing for MORE fan interaction. Dude is fried.

Yeah that's what I don't get. He has a good case that their ability to make money on twitch/onlyfans/etc comes largely from the WWE platform, but except in cases where it reflects bad on the company (ie nude onlyfans) I would think that there's more money in just letting them do their side stuff and take a piece of it.

Who cares. Y’all don’t give a shyt about her wrestling anyway :heh: Go pay to look at her on whatever social media site she’s on. She probably posting a million pics of herself. That’s all y’all wanna see anyway. Nothing of value was lost.
THIS RIGHT HERE!

Behind You
I already gave you an example...AJ Styles was discussing WWE behind-the-scenes shyt on his Twitch stream that's most likely monetized. He was using his status as an active WWE contractor to make side money. That's an easy thing for WWE to lay claim to.
Again, regardless of what AJ did or walked back from doing...if there is nothing in those independent contractor agreements stating what can and cannot be said publicly about WWE's inner workings or what can or cannot be done with one's own social media or the monetizing of social media then WWE just staking a claim because they don't like what the wrestlers are doing on their side gigs makes zero sense.

If there is no prohibitive language than the logical step would be for WWE to renegotiate all contracts with new ones that include the pertinent language. Or they could bully the folks on their roster into just submitting to whatever they want them to do and let the chips fall where they may for anyone who bristles at being bullied which seems to be the course of action WWE has taken.

Also, when WWE is using their resources to help someone like Velveteen Dream navigate those accusations on social media, do you think WWE deserves a cut or a little more control? Because when he was going through that shyt on 3rd party stuff, people here were acting like WWE was directly responsible. Now people are saying WWE has no connection to wrestler's social media activities. There's a flip flopping going on.
That is pure nonsense.

Totally controlling what an independent contractor does on their social media is in an entirely different universe than working with an independent contractor on a social media response to a sticky public relations controversy that could end up being a black mark on the brand.
And doing damage control with a talent you want to keep working for you doesn't then the company deserves a vig from the talent's side hustle.

And WWE will always face some backlash when people working for them do awful shyt because that is just how things work in the real world. If they wanted no backlash they should've fired Velveteen the second they found out he was sending dikk pics to teenage white boys.

For the life of me I don't understand why people feel the need to defend Vince on everything.
People who defend the status quo often like to use the tactic of dismissing anyone who doesn't as having a negative bias , not just with wrestling people pull that shyt with patriotism , but part of being held to a high standard includes critique , it isn't always just hate , I have my gripes at times , but I also acknowledge the things I do like, the day I can't I will take a hiatus or move on, but there are always aspects I enjoy that I point out, so the everyone that questions this wants to only reach for the negative narrative is false

Because y'alls are just ignant. All the TSC tyc00ns are trying to educate y'alls in how businesses work.

We're so lucky they took time off from drifting in their Maseratis to school us about the biz.

I'm surprised HHH didn't go to bat for her. She started in NXT and it's his creation. I think there's more to this story than a social media account.

Zelina Vega was released from WWE last evening in a move that came as a shock to the WWE Universe. The release came shortly after Vega put out a pro-unionization Tweet. According to reports, Vega already knew that her release was coming at the time of the Tweet.

I don't know where to start. I know a lot of the WWE Universe is here with me tonight and I'm incredibly grateful. I wouldn't have enjoyed my success without you, the WWE, and mostly importantly people who believed in me from the start, like Tommy Dreamer, The Rock, Triple H, and Stephanie McMahon.

Zelina Vega had special thanks for The Rock and Tommy Dreamer for beliving in her and fighting for her when no one else did:
Tommy and Dwayne [Johnson] believed in me when nobody else in the world did. They fought for me when nobody else would. I had gotten so many no's in my life up until that point.

All I ever wanted since I was a four-year-old girl was to be a WWE superstar. And not just for me but my dad too. So, I'm grateful to WWE and NXT for making this dream a reality. I'm not mad at anyone, I'm only thankful. If not for NXT, I would have never met my husband and some incredible people along the way. I'm not retiring from wrestling. Right now, I'm sad and heartbroken, and don't know what the future holds. But I know I will be here [on Twitch] with you guys, and I'm truly grateful for that too
