Unless you think he's washed he's worth the money he's being paid.
thats a seperate argument. Trading away a combo of Rui, Dlo and Reeves for him doesn't put us over the top. Thats a lateral trade at best.

AK just asked about Garland for LaVine. I think y'all might be underestimating just how STUPID Chicago's GM can be.

If Reaves is his sticking point, he will hold out. Watch

People are now bordering on delusion with all the claims about Zach being straight up a bad basketball player, but it's true the current iteration of the Bulls team is better without him. DeMar and Zach were never going to work out together. Coby is emerging as the complementary combo guard in the Brunson mold that the Bulls can pair with whoever they retool with.

Zach needs a ball dominant big like Joker or Embiid, or a distributor like Lebron or Haliburton to maximize his strengths. He's not a very smart player or good playmaker. I suspect he will look A LOT better wherever he is traded though. Any team that can feed him catch and shoot and downhill attacking opportunities is going to gain an elite efficiency scorer and decent on-ball defender. There is no question he's one of the most physically gifted players in the league.

On the flipside, AK will have to accept that he's likely a salary match wherever he goes.

That’s just desperate GM banter. He’s just trying create a market for Lavine. I’m sure he would like to have a Garland but Cleveland probably didn’t even return the call.

He knows he’ll have to come down and just cut his losses At this point some helpful players and a little capital should be ideal for him. If not he can go the GARPAX route.…and we all know what happens to bum management like that.

Hell yea. They need perimeter scoring and shooting in the worst way. Dude can go for 40 on any given night against anybody and can routinely hit 8+ 3s in a game. He would elevate this Laker team for sure.

Who would be the point guard?

You can't play him and Reaves together because of defense.

They’d prob start Gabe. Austin will be the de facto point guard anyways and i don’t think Lavine is that bad on defense when he’s engaged. His on ball defense is actually decent.

I think Bron will use him like he used Kyrie….just don’t think too much…go get buckets and worry about your man. Kyrie was also a poor defender but a decent man to man defender. And when he was asked to only do that he became a plus defender on the floor.

I see Zach being used the same way. The only difference is Kyrie is one of the most talented players in history and was capable of leveling up his play to top 5 status. I don’t know if Zach can go head up with Book, Anthony Edwards and Jamal Murray. But you never know….he’s never been in big games or had a chance to do so.

I just know if they can get him they should try to go get him because he addresses multiple issues that they have offensively.

Would feel a lot better if this was Donovan MItchell instead of Zach tho:francis:

I agree with most of your comment but Austin Reaves is not a good playmaker.

The Bulls are getting Reaves if they trade with the Lakers.

Zach is very streaky but when he's on his A game he can go bucket for bucket with any guard in the league except maybe Steph and Luka.
