It annoys me that Superhero movies aren't judged the same way other movies are and people are caught in some hype, good or bad.

The newest Fantastic Four had terrible hype before the reviews came out. It got terrible reviews. Right now its a 27 on Metacritic and a 9 on RT. I watched it and was shocked. Its not even close to being that bad. For me that makes no sense. Its not bad, its not good.

Its the same with Marvel movies except they get a boost.

Ant-Man with a 80 on RT and 64 on Metacritic and if not for the way Edgar Wright was dropped of the project it would maybe be higher, if he get got sick or something and had to leave, even if the movie was 100% like it is now.

Both of these films are a 5 with a bullet, for different reasons.

Ant-Man is a unambitious 90s comedy-heist spliced with some CGI with the worst Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas performances I've seen and a bad guy straight out of a Disney kids movie while Fantastic Four tried a new approach and failed and we'll never know if that was more because of FOX did have the balls for something like that or Josh Trank is a dumbass.

I more or less agree on Ant-Man. Rewatched it this past weekend, didn't hold up. Might be my least favorite MCU film.

That said, it's at least coherent and a complete film, which can not be said for F4.

Trank might have been making a damn interesting film, but the final act of that film is an abortion.

This thread is an extension of many other threads on the same topic. You need to pay attention. I never post tweets about what a critic said. But you do.
Please show me 1 post of mine about someone else's tweet.

I'll save you some time there are none cause I'm not on Twitter. You have crossed over to delusional liar now. Good show. :pachaha:

I liked Ant-Man the first time. But yea on a re watch...its just an average movie at best.

Never understood people saying this is one of the top 2 or 3 Marvel movies. :dwillhuh:

I do think Edgar Wright would have delivered a classic though :manny:

For some reason, I'm hopeful for the sequels though. :ohhh:

I'm interested in the Wasp movie. Thor 2 was sort of trash, but I'm looking forward to Thor Ragnarok

I knew it was grace from the title, she was doing subs in her rouge one trailer review.

I think that it's a ZS thing, The first one wasn't that great and was way too long for the pace.

I also don't think DC rushing to play catch up and bad casting choices help. I wish individual movies could have been made
