The notion that critics conspired to give bvs negative reviews because of a bias against dc comics/movies is insane and pathetic.

Talk about playing the victim card.

I don't think reviewers are out to get anyone but lets not think basic psychology doesn't affect critics. If you are a reviewer that is not invited to the first critic screening and you see nothing but praise for a movie before you see it. So when you see it and don't like it you start to think "What are they seeing that I didn't see, am I fukking up?" and also if you give a movie thats getting 8-10s a 5 you run the risk of getting a shytstorm of comments claiming you are just doing it for clicks.

Case in point - the post below me.

The worst part about this sub forum are the contrarians who feel the need to defend shyt films and shyt on high profile ones. It ain't cute.:scust:you don't get brownie points for being different. If a film is being planned on its technical aspects and there is proof to back it up, this shyt goes deeper than personal opinion.

That said, it's at least coherent and a complete film, which can not be said for F4.

Trank might have been making a damn interesting film, but the final act of that film is an abortion.

I don't agree with you its not coherant. At no point during the movie I felt lost or confused about what was happening except maybe for why the F4 went after Doom to the other planet/dimension. I don't remember if that was explained well.

As a whole, the DC movies just haven't been on par with the Marvel movies, I think anyone objectively can say that. That said, cats acting like the Marvel/DC beef is some new shyt, this rivalry predates most of the rivalries that exist in entertainment mediums. Its only natural it will spill over to the movies as well

I meant cohesive. But no, not much in 3rd act is particularly coherent either lol. Everything post-"One year later" is pretty clearly the work of the studio after they removed Trank.

The 8-4 and fiery moats
One of the main problems is BvS threw too much shyt in there to weird out casuals. That was a bold move considering that a lot of their audience was gonna be people who were used to the Marvel film formula. It back fired in a way, but I enjoyed the movie for that reason :yeshrug:

Since we're comparing the 2, I will say the DC films as a whole will prob hold up more than Marvel films in the future. Only Marvel ones I can still really enjoy now are the Cap films and the first Avengers one. Surprisingly I'm enjoying the Thor films even more :ehh: than I did at first. Tho nowhere near the level as WS :ohlawd:

I didn't read the thread... but how are BvS and the Shining even comprable? The Shining isn't some classic I'd defend to the death so I'm not offended she made that statement, i just don't get how they are similar.

While I don't agree on some kind of hidden agenda against the movie, but as someone who thoroughly enjoyed the movie, the wide hate it's getting does raise some eyebrows. As others have alluded to perhaps viewers were expecting something totally different. By no means was the movie perfect, for example editing was problem, but in no way did this take away my enjoyment of it.

The Shining was adopted from a classic Stephen King novel and took some creative liscences to make it into its own thing entirely. It was so different that Stephen King said he hated the adaptation. Critics followed along and shytted on it too, not really seeing what made it anything other than an incoherent run of the mill ghost story. But through the years people have rewatched it and noticed the shytload of details, symbolism, and imagery Kurbrick put into the film and it has since become adored.

Grace is saying Batman V Superman is for comic book movies what The Shining was to horror films, a misunderstood masterpiece that people will come to love later.
