Did this nikka @Wacky D just say that nikkas was off Mobb Deep by 99? The year they had multiple hit singles. Song placements on different movie soundtracks, and their first platinum plaque? Lmao. nikkas be straight up wildin. Lol

alot of people were off mob deep. if you cant see that they weren't poppin like they were with the previous albums, then I don't know what to tell you.

and they had ONE hit, being the quiet storm remix, and that was mainly thanks to lil kim, cuz the original single went nowhere.

Why do you keep pushing this garbage narrative?

This was the album that set up Prodigy's solo album. It was their biggest selling album.

yoooo is this dude serious
this is the first time in 20 years of this album's existence that i heard ANYONE say this
Everything you just said is complete opposite of how everyone felt about that album. Actually this is one of the "back packer" albums that IN FACT, didn't feel forced and was executed flawlessly

im like the culture-shock boogeyman to some of you dweebs.:heh:

this dude in here talking about "mos def's album was the soundtrack to our lives." LOL. man if you don't GTF with that chitty-chit.

nikka I was there. So nikkas wasn’t fukkin with It’s Mine? Or the original Quiet Storm? Or Allustrious? Where’s Ya Heart At? The Realest? Street’s Raised Me? Thug Musik? Son u buggin. U didn’t fukk wit the album and just assume other people didn’t even tho like I said. It was their FIRST platinum album and they had placements everywhere based off of it.

Apparently no one was fukkin wit Nas’ highest selling album of his career and nikkas was off of Mobb Deep by the time they dropped their highest selling album of their career. Lol

their top-seller because the remix was their biggest hit and it occurred in the midst of the sales boom.

it wasn't infamous.
not even close to "hell on earth"

and theres was a new generation of stars & styles that pushed them to the side.

im not saying they were washed. just saying it should come as no shock that theyre not in my top 10.

they werent done, they just got bumped down a few pegs, and if you weren't a big diehard fan of theres, then yea you were off of that.

its not rocket science. just natural rap progression that doesn't exist anymore.

I never said the bolded.
all I said was that the streets were split regarding IWW.
and im not even the main one that boxed you in the corner about this. but go ahead and act like it was all me, if that's what makes you feel better. SMH.

see the post above for my response to that mobb deep comment.

I don't even remember half that chit.

and youre conveniently dancing around the part that they lost steam in comparison to their two previous albums.

also, remember that theyre a hometown group for you. not for me. we got our own scene over here.
so naturally when they begin to fall, theyre gonna be lower on the totem pole out of town, than they are in new York.

I see that youre not even willing to admit that they fell out of the top-tier in their own town. so theres no way we can have a logical discussion here.

Fell out of the top tier to who? The album was anticipated and it was to the point where mad nikkas had the bootleg before it dropped. This is the shyt I remember vividly and I believe I still have the bootleg cd with the different track listing. Not including the fact that Mobb was 2 years between their last album. U think their platinum plaque. Placement in blockbuster movies n shyt like that was a sign that people outside New York STOPPED fukkin wit them? shyt if anything it introduced a lot of casuals to who they were.

i didn't say the bolded. i even went out of my way to clear up any confusion in my two previous posts.

of course if an advanced copy comes out early, people are gonna be on it. that doesn't mean that they were top-tier.

so mobb deep was top-tier to you? just in new York alone you had DMX, the lox, jay-z, big pun, NORE(b4 the 2nd LP dropped), and that's just off the top of my head.
they clearly fell out of the top-tier of NY rappers. then add the fact that youre talking to somebody that's not even from NY. we had our own chit going on.
don't even get me started on what was going on around the rest of the map outside of the east. you really gonna sit here and say that mobb was top-tier? nationally, they arguably weren't even top tier when they were at their peak. but you want to sit here and say that they were anywhere near top tier in '99?

you toss all logic out the window when it comes to your favorites.

None of this has to do with a Top 10 list. A lot of people have it in their Top 10 of 1999. The people that don't has nothing to do with what you're spewing here.

Sure, there were some newcomers, but nobody was exactly in their lane doing what they were doing better. They didn't go platinum solely because of the "Quiet Storm" remix with Lil' Kim. They didn't sell 1 million copies to die hard fans. They attracted new listeners with that album.

And unless you're going to apply the "sales boom" argument to everyone else, that whole argument is irrelevant.

Bro if u gonna go by that than they were never top tier because they never sold as many records as their contemporaries. Try again fam. Lol. It’s not about them being my favorites. It’s about reality fam. I remember what was going on during that time frame.
