no disrespect to anyone's list, but my list had the most stuff that was getting bumped by people IRL.

go outside and get caught up before you try to call somebody out.

Want to know how I know it's trash? I bought albums like Tru - Da Crime Family and Krazie Bone - Thug Mentality. Where is Mos Def - BOBS, Pharoahe Monch - Internal Affairs, Mobb Deep - Murda Muzik, Project Pat- Ghetty Green, Slim Shady LP, Volume 3 Life and Times of S. Carter, Venni Vetti Vecci, And Then There Was X...

its like youre upset that I didn't stick to some sort of coli guidelines when constructing my list.

mos def & Eminem's albums were too corny for me, outside of certain tracks. sorry.

I actually supported mobb deep and copped the retail cassette. i didnt like it and its been collecting dust ever since and I don't even remember anything from that album, to be honest. I was gonna dust it off before I made this thread, cuz it might sound better in 2019, but they were kinda played out by the time it dropped. we were off that in '99.

EDIT: DMX is in my revised list.
I gave a lot of spins to jay & jarule but they all had too much filler and not enough songs that stuck to my ribs to make up for it. that's pretty much what it came down to concerning this list, cuz really the hot boys & maybe Mac WW3 are the only two albums ive heard from that year that I could bump from front-to-back. so #3-10 really came down to which albums had the songs that I still revisit the most 20 years later.

never heard those project pat & pharaohe monche jawns. but you up here acting like they were required listening that had chit on smash. its pretty funny.
didn't hear that project pat, but I was a hypnotized minds fan and supported a lot of their stuff. with that said, I doubt he would've made my list.
didn't hear the pharaoh monche, and while I think hes a top 10 lyricist all-time, I was never interested in hearing a whole album of just him. so I never got around to it,

Ma$e "Double up" deserves to be there, had better bars than most projects that came out that year.

Also if "Black on both sides" is not on your list, that sh*t is invalid! Soundtrack of most of our lives :wow:

I keep forgetting 2001 dropped that year, thanks Game :russ: after his joint where he said "Right around 2001 when dre dropped 2001" i never considered 2001 dropping in 99 ever again :lolbron::mjlol:
