There are tons of other avenues in which to earn a living besides sitting in some corporate or government job where a master's is required for a $40,000/yr job. Also, debt is more likely to force you back to your parent's house -I have a lot of friends who moved in with their parents after business/law/grad school, I'm considering moving back home as well to pay down loans and save for a house, trust this wouldn't even be a consideration if we didn't have this student debt.

Our way of thinking about college is flawed, as someone who has attended world class schools, I can even see through this, I won't blindly lead my kids into these new chains.

:shrug2: I already gave up the dream of even having social security benefits around the year 2065. The retirement age might be 76 by time I'm ready to collect

The people that aren't paying aren't actively trying to f*ck over their debtors (well, not the people who care about their credit at least), they just can't find real work, never mind a career, to be able to ever pay back the loans in full in their lifetime.........and that's before the interest kicks in.

I only have few out of pocket expenses because of scholarships, but I'm thinking about friends and people I know enrolled at private liberal arts colleges majoring in marketing @ $24,000 a year .

Stupid mistakes like are gonna hurt alot of people this generation and the residual effects are going to f*ck all of us up in the long run
