How'd that work out for Dominique Strauss-Kahn? power, wealth and influence are very different and very criss-crossed. Obama has a lot of power but many people eclipse his wealth. The owner of the Washington Post has a lot of influence but random Erin Brokovich types can channel more influence sometimes. It's very ambiguous.

If those wealthy people happened to lose all of their wealth...then what?

Being smart/business savvy doesn't always equal powerful....nor does having a certain position(even President of the US) because even those with "positions of power" ultimately have to answer to people above them. There's just too many circumstances and factors for people to even come close to determining an alpha human being.
