The term has become stupid because you got a whole population of males running around saying they alpha males and TRYING to act as though they are. In reality, that alpha is engrained in your DNA and can't be taught or acquired.

I think it's not even applicable because human society isn't structured the way a lion pride or bee colony is

e.g. if you want wealth it's not going to happen by knocking a bunch of guys out

if you want power there are many different ways to get to different types of power

you know what I mean, there's not one standard way to 'win' at human life or even a definition of what winning is

For example, you have a bunch of dudes working at a law firm. You might have some people there who fit the criteria as "alpha", but you take those guys and put them in say...a hood spot or a biker bar, not so alpha anymore. Another scenario....you take a young thug...might fit the criteria as alpha, but then you put them in the military, or even prison, and they're no longer top dog. Now don't get me wrong...there are those with what are called "a-type personalities", but those are the type who are natural leaders who have those personalities and carry themselves in ways that people voluntarily follow them. Still not the same thing as alpha in say....a pack of wild animals. I think the whole alpha theory was placed on people pretty much by feminists with an agenda to make males compete to get women. Nothing more, nothing less. In a pack of wild animals, the alpha is simply the alpha because it's the biggest, baddest male in the pack and would fukk anyone up until a younger, potential alpha eventually takes his place.

Not true at all. The alpha males in any animal kingdom, including our own, are simply the utmost dominant males.

Dominance itself is defined as possessing "the most power and influence", and in our kingdom those with the most power and influence are the ones with the most current assets (money, inventory for sale .e.t.c.).

The likes of Warren Buffet, Bill gates, George Soros, Bernard Arnault, Carlos slim, The Sultan of Brunei are alpha males.

How'd that work out for Dominique Strauss-Kahn? power, wealth and influence are very different and very criss-crossed. Obama has a lot of power but many people eclipse his wealth. The owner of the Washington Post has a lot of influence but random Erin Brokovich types can channel more influence sometimes. It's very ambiguous.
