I understand the Lakers HAVE to do right by stars, as they don't really have anything else going for them organizationally, but why are they continuing to dedicate resources to the LeBron-AD era

Last year's playoff run prob gave their mgmt false hope and a misconception that they can still relive their past glory from 5 years ago.

When the reality is that bubble team is long gone and if in it's wake you're habitually crawling in as a 7th seed (2021, 2023, 2024) in hopes the rest of the field will be too injured or inexperienced to stomp you out proper (while also hoping that you miraculously stay healthy despite also being old and injury-prone)... it's just not gonna work out like that.

Jaxson gives them a big who can rebound (Rui really is so incredibly soft) and another athlete you can throw at Jokic/Gordon

This really wouldn't be an issue if Rui wasn't so trash as a rebounder. He's been improved as the year went on, but he's not good in that aspect

Another 1st round loss coming right on up. I knew not to even get remotely hyped for this playoffs. It's time for the Lakers to step into the 2020s and build a team and stop chasing stars, "if you build it they will come".
